beIN Sport = More soccer on TV

Just a heads up for soccer fans who might have missed it. There's a new soccer network that was just added to DirecTV (Ch 620) that has the US broadcast rights to La Liga, Serie A, and Ligue 1. It looks like they are going to have 6 La Liga matches on live this weekend including both Real Madrid and Barca on Sunday as well as 1 live and 3 tape delayed Ligue 1 matches.

I just checked my DirecTV and I don't get it. I am pretty sure I have the most basic package. Appears I will have to still settle for grainy internet feeds. Bummer.

$12.99 per month gets you the sports pack which would include both Fox Soccer Channel and beIN Sports. Not to mention you'd still get GolTV, but they really don't have much to offer anymore since beIN is taking over most of the major European leagues outside of the Premier League. It might not be an option for everybody indefinitely, but a one month splurge would get you a hell of a lot of soccer action for the price of a night out at the movies.

Good news for USMNT fans. beIN Sports will be televising all away matches for the US WC qualifying run including the hexagonal round. Getting these matches on TV has been hit or miss in the past as the home team's federation holds the broadcast rights.
