ISU's stadium wouldn't be much fuller than KU's if they hadn't won a conference game in as long as we have. The thing about you guys is that you are benefited by not being in a market that has to compete with professional sports teams for entertainment dollars. If you play near a professional sports market you better win a lot or people are going to spend their money on the NFL/MLB etc instead.
This is bs, ku has no problems selling out the phog. Fact is, fair weather fans are just that. Ku isn't winning so they don't sell tickets, it's that simple.

We sell out the phog because we always win. If we didn't, that would be empty too. Every fan base is fair weather.

This is such a bull**** excuse. KU isn't that much closer to the pro team you're referring to than Ames is. And we're actually sandwiched between two pro teams with Minneapolis and KC, and between two B1G teams with UoI and Nebby. Yet we still fill a stadium with an average product. Simply put, your fans SUCK. They'll support a basketball program, but not football/track (whichever that is).

Um, seriously? Lawrence is 37 miles from KC while Ames is 232 miles away.

I can absolutely believe what he is saying. Living in Illinois, they could care less about their college programs (even the ones that are alums of UI and NW) while the Bears are always on people's minds.

KU is putting up a better fight than ISU did, pretty sad really

In both games, the game was pretty much over at half, so only really looking at the first half, baylor was beating us 37-0 at half, and beating KU 38-0 at half. Fairly comparable performances, though we were on the road and KU was at home (not that we've showed much life at home this year either)

ISU did better against our run game. Other than the one long run by Lache Seastrunk we were under 4 per carry by our tailbacks which is all the credit to ISU on that. Unlike the KSU game it wasn't fumbled snaps and lucky timing on nickel and cb blitzes, ISU had a great plan to limit the run.

Hard to believe considering we give teams their highest rushing total they have had all year.

ISU plays near sixteen major professional franchises (6 MLB, 5 NFL, 2 NHL, 3 NBA), and all within a single day's drive; not to mention all the minor league teams in state and the surrounding five states. There's plenty of competition for an Iowan's entertainment dollar.

Edit: I'll even say Iowa maybe the most over-served professional sports market in the country.
