The little fuzz ball is all white, I just saw it also. Two eggs left to hatch. Cool!

Aauummm, when we were kids there were ZERO nests in Iowa. Now there are 200 breeding pairs in Iowa. Amazing. Even though I see them all of the time here in Minnesota (and on road trips back home to NE Iowa) I still think it's special, probably because I didn't see any as a kid.

I'm loving this nest cam, although it seems to be offline right now. Is anyone else having trouble accessing the site?

The Bald Eagle is truly one of the success stories of the Endangered Species Act ("ESA"). The EPA banned the use of the pesticide DDT in the late 60s or early 70s in large part because it was accumulating in the highest level predators like the Bald Eagle. The DDT weakened the egg shells and chicks just weren't able to hatch. An auxilliary benefit of the DDT ban, is that it protected more than just Bald Eagles, it really helped all predators, particularly fish-eating raptors or other egg layers because DDT was so prevalent in freshwater ecosystems.

It's awesome to see so many Bald Eagles flourishing and their populations recovering from below 1000 wild pairs.

It is currently demolishing the rabbit I assume it caught the other day and feeding it to the eaglet...very awesome to watch!

Cant tell for sure but it looks like there is 2 rabbits in the nest. Must have been supper time because the adult was feeding the eaglet just a few minutes ago and is now settled back over the eaglet and the other 2 eggs. Neat stuff!

I want to know who in their right mind is going to crawl 80ft. into a tree and put this camera up?! I hope to heck that the connection on the camera doesn't come loose any time soon.

What if the mother eagle eats the baby? That would be sweet.

Doesn't look like she is going to do that for you. Maybe she didn't think of that. Why don't you shimmy up the tree and suggest it to her? Now that's something I'd like to see. Too sweet!

Bald eagle omelets would make a great breakfast!

You couldn't pick a better thread to cause trouble?

I pity you.
