I'm struggling to understand how the taking heads are calling the Big10 the best league. The Big12 is loaded with 1/2 the teams in the top 25 and at least 2 national champion contenders. With Baylor beating Illinois and WVU hanging with Gonzaga, it seems that the Big12 has shown to be the best conference so far.

You have to remember it's the same talking heads that have been pumping B10 FB all freaking season. There is more money to be made pimping the B10 and the SEC then the rest of the leagues.

If it was an ISU loss there would be a ton of posters saying this year is a 'COVID year," so coach gets a pass.

Coach Weber has never been a consensus fan favorite in Manhattan. But his team, to this point in time, is really bad. Mostly because they are so young, I suppose because many of them were highly-rated recruits.

But what I know of Bruce Weber, he may be on the hot seat but won't get fired. He'll just step aside if he thinks the job is beyond him.

There's not a more ethical person in the game than Weber. That's one reason so many of us admire him and his program which has done some pretty remarkable things in the cesspool that is college basketball.

If the Big 10 and Big 12 did a challenge akin to the Big 10/ACC, how many would the Big 12 win?

Not exactly sure.

How are we matching them? 1-10 or taking the top five of the big ten versus the top five and bottom five versus bottom five, in essence leaving teams 6-9 of the big ten out? Most times they are lined up off last years standings. I don't remember what each finished.

1-10. it's not exactly based on last years standings, they do make an effort to pair the projected best teams against each other.

Using CBS projected year end standings for Big 10 and Surly's post from #1

Baylor vs Illinois
KU vs Iowa
WV vs Wisc
Texas vs MSU
TxTech vs OSU
OSU vs Rutgers
TCU vs Indiana
ISU vs Purdue
OU vs Michigan
KSU vs does it even matter?

edit: You can take the middle Big 10 teams out and replace with the bottom. I don't feel like ISU for example is beating Penn St or Maryland either so it doesn't matter to me.

If you just use the 1-10 from the big ten then I project the big ten would win the head to head. Every conference has at least two teams that are not going to be a challenge and the big ten would not have to floor their two whereas the big 12 would start in a hole with loses by numbers 9 and 10. In the limited knowledge I have seen this year

1) Baylor
2) No Clue have seen neither play
3) WV
4)MSU (but I haven't seen Texas though) going off MSU playing good to start the year
5-8) no idea
9-10) big ten since the bottom two of the big 12 are tough. I would actually guess ISU would be placed 9th since I think that is where we were projected.

So out of 5 games I'm guessing I have 3-2 for the big ten.

KU vs. Iowa? Good Lord, do you want this place to explode?
