I've been doing it for about a year. I'm at the Y when they open at 530am. I'm in my 50s, with a bad back and hips, so much of my workout consists of strengthening my core, maintaining flexibility and some cardio.

For me, I try to be realistic about what I'm doing. Some days, I just don't have it in me, so instead of a high energy workout, I'll stretch and walk the track for 20 minutes. Something is better than nothing. Over the winter months I worked out M-F and by Friday I was struggling at times. With the warmer temps and being active outside, I've cut back to M-W-F and I feel stronger for longer. You need to find a schedule that works for you rather than trying to replicate someone else's.

Getting up and moving around before starting work has helped improve my focus in the morning.

Another way to improve focus in the morning; is Sweat Before Screens. I heard someone say that a few years ago and I agree with it.

I generally workout in evenings during the week, but I do mornings on weekends. Your testosterone levels are higher earlier in the day, so I usually can lift more or have more gas/endurance in the morning. I generally can tell the difference and I'm not a morning person.

My routine is thoroughly stretch first. My "pre workout" usually consists of the following: honey/salt either on a spoon or mixed in with water/a vitamin C mix, baking soda (it doesn't add flavor for those wondering). I also do an OJ/Pom juice/creatine mix. I've been doing that the last several months and have noticed an uptick in stamina/endurance.

Almost every day at 5. I workout and shower then wake my wife up a little after 6 so she can do the same. I get the 3 kids ready to go as well. We have a 4 month old and the routine worked great before her but it’s been a ***** since.

Worked out at 5 this morning.

I did that for a while in 2019 when I had a single months old child. Only time I could squeeze it in. I guess I did go running at that time for a while in 2015-2017. I never could get it to not suck.

I'm 45 and have been working out 3 days a week at 5:30 am the last couple of years. Being a night person, it took a mindset shift, but love it now after getting adjusted.

Between kids and work, afternoon/evening workouts would get interrupted quite often, so hitting it first thing in the morning brought consistency. Getting to bed around 9 to accommodate also meant more rest and less snacking at night as well.

I wfh so workout times vary pending on meetings. I try to get it in first good open block of the day. Kid is on the bus at 7am so I'd like to work on shifting to a workout right after that but younger child still needs help getting out the door. I never regret amorning workout once I'm done but man those first 10 minutes feel like torture.

Yes, I felt like torture this morning. Even the dog was looking at me like "Whats going on here".

I consider myself a morning person but some of you are rock stars that are up by 5am and get your workouts in. i'm up by 5:30 most mornings but struggle to get in a 15-20 minute workout in a lot of mornings

I start around 4:45 each morning. Along with the other tips here, spend a few minutes stretching before you start. Even just 5 minutes will help you feel a little looser and reduce the risk of cramps/injuries

Same. I’m up early, but I need coffee and some time to sit in a chair and stare blankly out the window, not work out.

I used to love morning workouts. But that was before I had a kid with a daycare dropoff.

Pre-kid, I did a 6:15 a.m. workout at my workplace, and it was a wonderful way to start my day.

I currently have to get up at 5 for work. If I wanted to work out, I'd have to get up at 4 and do a workout at home. That's not happening. So I do noon workouts instead and eat lunch at my desk.

I used to be a wake up 30 minutes before needing to be at work guy. Morning workouts have totally changed my sleep quality, energy levels, mental clarity, everything. Its nice to wake up ready to go and stay that way.

The biggest tell is that my days are way better if I sleep for 6 hours/workout compared to sleeping in that extra 1-1.5hrs.
