Our tailgating group for football is starting to get bigger and we are getting more and more stuff each year and are quickly running out of room. We don't wasn't to buy a bus or anything like that, but a small covered trailer sounds perfect.

Does anyone have any suggestions of a type or style to look for? I know there's the teardrop style for camping, but doesn't seem good for tailgating. I would really want it mostly for packing stuff into and not for camping.

I'm not really handy and there's no way I could make one ha.

Since you would already be in the RV lot by bringing a trailer.... I dont know why you would wanna not find an RV or do up a bus.

My dad pulls a little 10' enclosed trailer behind his pickup for tailgating and parks in the student lots. It works great and allows to lock things up when you go into the game, also provides good cover when its raining.

No trailers in G7. Only vehicles on normal passenger frames are allowed. if it doesnt fit into a normal spot lengthwise it will be turned away.

Is this new? I ask because my dad has been parking in the same exact spot for 5+ years.

Sorry I should clarify that my dad actually parks in G2 with his truck and trailer

Is G2 a public lot? Trailers, RVs and buses are allowed in most public lots, they just charge extra to park them. They are not allowed in non-RV donor lots ( like G7) because everyone pays the same price for a pass (50$) , and thus deserves the same amount of space.

Which, last year, was about the same afforded to sardines in a can. The parking people need to loosen up! How can I drink for 6 hours with no room to stretch my legs?!?!?

Must not be in my section. Some have literally taken two spots and tented off four more. Then they complain that we didnt get there early enough as their kids bounce footballs of our vehicle. Almost tempted to donate more to get away from these guys.

I've always had good luck if I showed up early enough. Last year, they did make about 4 cars move doing exactly what you said. Boy were those guys p.o.'d :laugh"

I don't mind someone taking extra spaces while they tailgate. If I have a larger crew, we usually will try to find an end to use the rock area and an extra spot. If we can't get one we will start breaking things down as the lot fills, figuring people will want/need the spots.

I had a guy chew me out for arriving 30 minutes before kickoff, well, we had a 5/6 football game that my son was in and was busting it to get there by then.

Asked about pulling a trailer into one of the donor lots a few years back. The answer I received was that I would need two parking passes (one for truck one for trailer) to bring it into the lot. Just need to pay extra for the trailer in the public lots.

The way we work it is to get parking passes for the tailgating rigs/equipment. Everyone else drops off their passengers/supplies at the tailgating spot and then parks in one of the public lots or nearby streets and walks to the tailgate. (Never had a problem with bringing in a car without a pass if they just dropped people off and then left the lot.)

If your group is large enough it shouldn't be too hard to come up with an extra parking pass for the trailer.

Same thing happened to me at the UNI game last year. My son had stuff going on and couldn't get there until about an hour before the game. A guy had a tent set up taking two spots next to his car and I asked him if I could pull in there since there weren't any other spots open and the lanes were so full I couldn't hardly drive. He got all pissy and wouldn't move, and then I asked him if I could see his three parking passes then since he was taking three spots. He was throwing a fit like a toddler when we pulled the truck in and went ballistic when my wife asked him if he needed to take a nap because he was acting like our three year old.
