Anyone think Shawn Taggart regrets transferring?

Coach Cal credits Taggart for helping them get to the Final 4. Maybe if he were at ISU he could have helped them get to the tourny. Good for him he made the right choice. He does have a nack for the game and has a feel for it. There is just something missing in his game, I am not sure what it is.

He better find it by next year because he will be their 1 or 2 option barring another Rose-like pickup.

Does Dozier and Dorsey go pro?

If so, it could be lonely for Taggert inside by himself. He is going to have an enormous amount of pressure with the expectations being so high in Memphis. If they don't live up to those expectations they will be looking for a scape goat. Could be a bad situation if Taggert isn't able to rise to the situation and fill some huge shoes. Just could be a tough spot.

They will still be a tournament team unless Self splits for OSU and Cal heads to Kansas... Even if it's not for Kansas I wouldn't be suprised to see Cal bail...

Blaaaah...

What is going on that players are willingly giving up a year of eligibility to transfer out of ISU? I cannot think of another D1 school that has lost this many players in the past 5 years... What do we need to do to start keeping these players? (facilities?)

I assure you that ISU isn't alone. Some big-time programs have lost very talented players in recent years. It usually happens after their coach resigns or is fired (Kentucky's Alex Legion this year; Iowa's Tyler Smith last year; Indiana's Patrick Ewing Jr. two years ago; Oklahoma's Drew Lavender two years ago; Oklahoma's Lawrence McKenzie two years ago; Kansas' David Padgett three years ago).

What do we need to do? Keep our coach for as long as he needs to find the right players. If we do that, Coach McD will succeed. If we lose our cool, the program will suffer.

I think Taggart totally regrets leaving ISU after losing the National Championship team now. I bet he's thinking, "Man, if I had only stayed with the Cyclones, I wouldn't be feeling this way right now...."

You could call it "grace", or perhaps simply "savvy". I know that I saw him make some really dumb moves, trying to do to much at times, for the Tigers this season. Traveling calls never help.
