Regarding Gene's jokes at Iowa last night.

Marty - "I'm not taking a shot at Chizik" but he's doing nothing but whining about Chizik.

This guy doesn't understand the words coming out of his own mouth.

"What gives him the license to take shots at Ferentz". Mart - he didn't say a thing about Ferentz. If it was a shot at anybody, it's the players.

I know this is just another in the never ending attempts to drum up interest and callers, and that they can't have a show based on it's own merits so they have to go to the shock route. But it's annoying all the same.

I've never listened to them and from what I've read on here, I never intend to start. Why do you people torture yourselves?

Only show in town.

Actually started listening as part of the earlier thread for Jon Miller's best plays ever .

they take getting used to. But i enjoy them for the most part. They arent for everyone, just like most sports radio or even radio personalities in general.

It is like a stand up routine on every day. Marty just takes a controversial side to get people to get fired up and call and reinforce that anyone is actually listening to him talk. Someday people on this board firing back and Iceberg and the people who call in fired up at Marty will learn this. Or maybe not!

The people that call in and start yelling back seem like pretty big rubes, they dont realize its their schtick.

When they are pissed at each other is the best, especially when Marty gets so worked up he starts saying "Folks were gonna come to blows here" he can dish it out but when Miller gives it right back then all hell breaks loose.

Everyone loves to say that Bates is a great athlete, but Arnaud was a pretty good basketball player too. Everyone seems to picture AA as a "Ryan Leaf" statue, but he can run fairly well.

They're not too bad. People just need to realize Marty is just trying to get under their skin and it works. I'm convinced people would rag on anyone who has a radio show.

I wish they would play the JaMaine Billups punt return against Pittsburgh sound byte....I think that may have been Pete's best.

I'll give Marty one thing. It looks like we may have a QB pile up next year. I'm guessing one of the three will transfer if they're #3 on the depth chart by that time, possibly even if they're #2 with little playing time. A good problem to have nonetheless. Hopefully the coaching staff makes good decisions and we don't lose the wrong one.

That makes no sense whatsoever. Next year, Phillip redshirts while Jerome backs up. Then, after Austen declares for the NFL as a junior, Phillip takes over. Then it's Jerome's turn.

I strongly disagree. If Arnaud is the starter next year there won't be anybody transfering. He will be a junior and Tiller will be a RS Freshman. 2 year difference. Bates can than be moved as we have a dependable backup plus whoever we sign as a QB in this recruiting class. And we will sign a QB in this class!!!!!
