His recruiting has really picked up. I don't think he's considered a Northwestern commit anymore. Would be an excellent get in a good recruiting year for HWTs--hard to believe there are several more highly thought of than him.

I think yes. Maybe not as much as 184, but definitely need a hwt. Guess I haven't heard how Marcus is doing with the new weight. If he gets as big as needed, then we have a lesser need at Hwt.

We basically have two on roster in Harrington and Gremmel..both good recruits out of HS..from what I've heard, Gremmel just may not have the right mindset to be an elite college wrestler..Harrington does (and also the talent), but he needs to get bigger for Hwt.

When you have a shot at upgrading weights, you do it. Especially when you're a new staff.

Good point. And the more I think about it, he would be two years behind Gremmel. Who I sincerely hope gets his stuff together.

With Gremmel & Harrington, I am okay with losing Cassioppi. Was actually surprised when I see we visited.

Would rather get Shapiro, Carr or Teske.
Think biggest need is 165 & 184

I would agree that 165 and 184 are biggest needs. However, if we are going to start competing for top 10 again, we need to start bringing in more top recruits no matter the weight. HWT is currently very suspect at how we will compete in the coming 3 or 4 years. I was also surprised we were in on Cassioppi.

I totally agree with csteve - while we have big needs at 165 and 184, we need to upgrade talent anywhere and everywhere in the lineup. And with the staff recruiting Cassioppi, you can tell they think the same thing.

With that being said - the Cassioppi visit was out of nowhere - any rumors of any other top recruits we're after or have visited?
