Saw a girl eat **** falling into the street a couple of years ago. Probably a good idea to make a separate bridge.

I'm not sure how a bridge will stop someone from eating $#!+ if they are predisposed to do so. And frankly I doubt they are going to want any $#!+ eating on the bridge either.

It would also be a big plus for bicyclists! I bike down that area quite often, even go around JTS. The only way to get across to the bike path on the south side of South 4th is to go aross South 4th by the park entrance. We park in the haunted forest and have always wondered why there isn't a sidewalk on the south side of the street.

Every legal parking spot in shaded area is full on gameday. This is the route to get to them.
As someone who lives in the Western portion of the shaded area in this graphic, this Pedestrian bridge is much needed. After games people on the South side of S 4th St(who probably exited the stadium via the pedestrian bridge over University), walking east across the current bridge have no walkway, but rather they walk in the southern most lane often 2 or 3 people wide, sometimes pulling rolling coolers. I'm amazed no one has been mowed down by a vehicle yet, especially with all the late/night kickoffs we had last season.
Also, vehicles exiting the Haunted forest and Lot G6 are all forced to turn right (East) on S. 4th, directly into the southern most lane crossing the creek, where said pedestrians are using that lane for walking.
Some pedestrians, not many, will cross to the north side of S 4th on the west sode of the bridge, take the walkway across the bridge, and then as soon as on the East side of the bridge, cross all 4 lanes to get on the south side of S 4th.

Yeah, give me a tunnel there under the road. Way too much traffic from the grass lots going across the road there. The bridge was supposed to help with that, but the students moving to the SEZ pushed most of that foot traffic south.

I thought for a long time the new bridge was going to be over/near the intersection of Elwood Dr. (not going to stop calling it that name) and S 16th St. into Lot S4. It's the obvious place for one.

It wasn't until fairly late in the process with the "S7" Bridge that I looked at a map and noticed it was further north. It makes some sense with how the lots moved around, but an "S4" Bridge would still receive a ton of foot traffic coming out of the VetMed and grass lots running up to the east and south.

Yea there always should have been a ped crossing on the South side too. It’s a big bottleneck since the crossing on the north side is only 5-6 ft wide.

Seems like a smart idea, they need to add a couple of bridges across university to the south for the students, vet med and GA parking along with one at the where this new purposed one will be. Would also be nice to have a bridge for the kids leaving the dorms. over Lincoln Way.
The more people used bridges the easier it is going to be to get people out of the parking lot and on the road.
