There are few things I hate worse than dressing for the weather in shorts and a t-shirt or polo and then walking into a store or restaurant that has the cooling turned down to mid 60s and the vents blowing right on your table. I want to be able to dress for the weather not dress in a sweatshirt in 80+ degree weather.

74, main level stays there, basement sits at 66 or so, and upstairs bedrooms are warm. Too cheap to put it lower. I just spend most of the time outside of sleeping in the basement if I'm at the house.

I had the AC on last night to lessen the humidity in the house.
We had a bunch of family over for lunch yesterday, 15ish of us mostly hanging out on the main floor, thermostat was set to 68 but with all the bodies, the oven/stove cranked up, etc., it crept up to a very stuffy 74... miserable.

72 with a few fans in parts of the house where I spend most of my time.

We keep ours between 68-70. We’ve barely used our AC so far where we live, but that streak seems to be coming to and end in the next week.

Sounds like one if those peak use plans that is pretty common in TX didn't realize Ca used it also.

yeah, virtually free from 11pm-8am, typical price most of day, 2x price 4pm-7pm where we go Amish style other than lights and computers.

I think it's really helped fight blackouts too. There are almost no blackouts now in LA compared to when I moved here 12 years ago and they happened frequently in summers.

Ours was 73 then wife started complaining, she wanted 71, I wanted 73 so we compromised at 72.

Ours is set at 74 for summer cooling and 70/67 for winter heating. I would prefer to use more natural air cooling in the summer, but my wife has asthma.

I'm all over the place, just depending on how it feels. Seems to vary with if it's humid or "dry" in the house. Guessing 74 is sort of the norm but will go lower to chill down some if it feels stuffy at all (or before bedtime to drop temp for initial sleep).

Yesterday might have been a first for me, ran heat and A/C on the same day. Took morning chill off by running heat for a few minutes Sunday AM. By afternoon it was quite humid. Niece and family arrived later in the day and they are from dry air foothills in Montana so dropped A/C on to dry and chill the house a bit before bedtime. They are off to day to SE Iowa. Kids are going to think it's stupid humid!

Per a recommendation from our HVac guy, we leave our blower running continuously, rather than only when the AC or furnace kicks in.

if 78 is too hot for you inside... you need to get off your ass and work in the heat.
