Do they take paint? I am really confused as to if they take it or not. Also, do you just bring it out to the curb and leave it?
What kind of paint? If it is latex you can just open the lids and let it dry out and then throw it in the trash as it isn't considered hazardous. Other types of paint need to be taken to the facility over in Bondurant to be disposed of. Sometimes cities do have a special day for hazardous material but usually you have to take it to a specific location.
I assume they will take yard waste? like dead plants/grass i raked up?

So pretty much anything in my garage that I might actually need to get rid of.
Next question, where can you get rid of large TV's? I have a 40" HD unit that needs out of my house, needs some minor repair, but I already bought a replacement.
Waste Management takes them at their locations around the area:
Electronics Recycling | Waste Management
There is probably a charge for it, though.
