Do they take paint? I am really confused as to if they take it or not. Also, do you just bring it out to the curb and leave it?

What kind of paint? If it is latex you can just open the lids and let it dry out and then throw it in the trash as it isn't considered hazardous. Other types of paint need to be taken to the facility over in Bondurant to be disposed of. Sometimes cities do have a special day for hazardous material but usually you have to take it to a specific location.

Crap. I have like 3 5 gallon buckets of paint. That takes a while to dry out.

Leave it to the guy in Texas to post a list of stuff you can't put out in Ankeny. Nice pull aggie.

The world is at peoples fingertips and they won't leave their backyard.

Something else I thought was weird in Urbandale, was if you put out a refridgerator, you had to have the front door taken off of the fridge. Supposeably somewhere, a kid was playing around in one of the fridges and shut the door and the spring clean-up crew threw the whole thing in the truck with him in the fridge lol.

So if you plan on putting a fridge on the curb, take the front doors off just in case

So pretty much anything in my garage that I might actually need to get rid of.

You'd be amazed what disappears via pickets before the city crew gets there.

Got rid of my last fridge and microwave that way. Put it out with no sticker and it was gone before midnight.

So I have an old nasty couch and some wet carpet from by basement I need to get rid of by I do not have a truck. Does Ankeny Sanitation pick up large items? When is the day of the year everyone throws all their crap out and the city picks it up?

Any ideas would be helpful, my garage is starting to smell.

Next question, where can you get rid of large TV's? I have a 40" HD unit that needs out of my house, needs some minor repair, but I already bought a replacement.
