They have been gushing about Iowa the entire first part of the show, which is fine, but before commercial break he says he wants to talk about the Iowa State fans and how disappointing they were this weekend. Not even a mention of our 6th win, or our win over Chicago City (I know it's State).

Insert joke as to why I'm listening to "Out of Bounds".

Everytime I listen to that show it sounds like Cotler and Round Guy have never actually seen a sporting event of any kind. These guys give me hope that I could apply for a job that I am horribly under-qualified for and end up doing it for the rest of my life.

I really get upset when people bring up attendance for our home football games. Cyclone fans are just as passionate and show-up just as well as Hawkeye fans; and this is despite not being as successful on the field. There are just fewer of us.

He is the main reason I do not watch sports news on KCCI. Nothing against him personally - but I just do not like his / KCCI's sports coverage in general!

Well he isn't telling a lie, once again the attendance was pathetic. Why would a recruit want to play in front of such few fans?

Especially by media people who don't buy tickets themselves...

There are 43,000 physical seats, and we had 43,000 in attendance. Not too bad, imo. Could it have been better? Of course, but it wasnt too bad at all. Not to mention, the 43K there made as much if not more noise than than the 51K for Army.

How do you say that there was over 50,000 people there for NDSU? It is a joke, the fans don't come in November and I don't know why, I have missed three games in five years, no excuse not to be there.

I don't like to complain about anybody, but Garman and Marty Tirrell are two people I can absolutely not stand.

Honestly, I would like to see more people there for games like last weekend when clearly that was big game for this team and the future of the program, but if you look average national attendance we are about right.

Last year we were #48 in average attendance and we were 2-10. We were clearly not a top 50 team. I say Iowa State gets pretty good attendance compared to team performance.

Check out 2008 attendance stats to see how we stack up:
http://web1.ncaa.org/web_files/stats/football_records/Attendance/2008.pdf

FYI: This year, by my calculations, we were just over 46,000/game

Actually, yes there is.

ISU has a lot of fans who just happen to be farmers. It is harvest season. Many farmers are still in the field throughout the state due to such a wet fall season.

Harvest usually requires a whole family effort, thus many people stay home.

I know that this kept family and friends of mine away on Saturday.

Ever wonder why attendance always dips in November every year, no matter how ISU is playing? It isn't that hard to figure out.

Farmers are in the field and not in the stands.

As bad as Cotlar (whoever else you want to complain about) is. Try moving up here to Waterloo. You can almost get ESPN radio if everything goes your way otherwise the local stuff around here makes Cotlar sound like Howard Cosell.

Is Andy Garmen the sports guy at KCCI? I had no idea he even had a radio show...one thing is for sure, KCCI is the most pro hawk channel of all 3 in DSM.

Why, if every team has a small percentage of "idiot" fans, does he feel the need to bring up Iowa State's? He has never brought up the hawks. Same with Jon Miller. Just pisses me off.
