Hum... We already booked though them - but for Monday - Saturday and did a vacation package and with all fees and 2 nights in Monte Carlo (fees including baggage, seats - Allegiant charges you an extra fee from 10.99-14.99 for seats, taxes, fees, etc) for under $1,000.

I was worried that we booked it too soon (Monday) and prices would go down, but I'm glad we did - and it only went down $100. It could have just as easily gone up $100.

This is actually a gimmick fee---that fee is so you can "pick" the seats you want to sit in and is a total rip-off. Call the Allegiant customer service line and tell them that you don't care about where you sit and they will credit that money back to you with Allegiant credit.

We are doing same thing 30th-2nd. Flying from LAS to PHX on Southwest though. Only $49 each way. Comes out to being $400 to fly from DSM to Phoenix with 1 stop in LAS. I would recommend this to anyone as it is by far the cheapest way to get their from DSM.

I searched for a long time to try to find a cheap way and this is it. It is also cheaper than flying from the other regional airports.

Fill that Allegaint flight up with Clones!!

This is still the way to go out of Des Moines IMO. Currently you can fly out of DSM on 12/30 to Vegas for $410. Southwest from Vegas to Phoenix ($90) . Land around 7 bells. Fly back to Vegas on the 1st. Do a little gambling. Head back to Des Moines early on Jan 2.

This is a GREAT idea for ppl on the fence who don't wanna pay the ridiculous amounts to fly direct. I'm flying our of CR to Vegas and renting a car. Going down the day before 30th and coming back on sat 2nd. The flight back was like 39 each or something ridiculous like that. The flight down and back and car rental for the whole time after all the fees and everything was still under 800 for 2 ppl.

Just curious. Why would you rent a car in Vegas and burn 5 hrs driving to Phoenix when you can take an hour flight for $90?

We drove in 2000 down there. It's doable and we probably went 20 MPH tops through west texas/NM/AZ because they had snow down there and couldn't take care of it. 27 hours straight and I rode middle back a lot of the way in a Bravada.

That said there is no way I'm making the trip now, haha. Call me lame but I was rooting for Houston because I would've been able to make that trip.

Allegiant "discount" airline is asking people to bend over at this point. This option out of DSM was previously a bargain for those willing to fly to Vegas B4 heading to Phoenix. . I'm glad I got in when I did. Tonight, the price from DSM to Vegas is $680!
