They are giddy here in Lobo land concerning Stevie, he has the Slowbo's 5-0 and has something not done since Coach Fran-they won a road game at Colorado! They are convinced Afraud is the second coming! The Pit is packed and ticket sales are almost a record. The papers are calling Stevie "the best hire for UNM since Bob King".

No one here understands what happened in Suckeye land...........they just don't get it! and are convinced they "stole" him.

Worst part is we see him or the wife on our neighborhood streets almost everyday! Yea they bought near us..............to make it really bad he waves! I don't........stop it Stevie!

He's winning with the previous coach's players. Just wait until he gets his own players in there. It will be brutal. And fun to watch.

Honestly I want him to succeed there, it only bolsters the view that Iowa is bad place to be a BB coach. I hope he makes the NCAAs three straight years and wins 2 first round games.

- keep.

Richie McKay got fired because everyone he brought in left, and they lost every road game! There wasn't much here, Stevie brought most of the kids he had on a string for the Suckeyes here. Remember J.R. Giddens? Kansas a few years ago, got stabbed in a bar in Lawerence? Billy Self booted him off team and he is here now and playing lights out!

Weird

Exactly. I hope he becomes a fixture in the NCAAs.

The hawk fans will go NUTS!

Same holds true for when they run off Ferentz.

GREAT! Get ready. There is going to be a HUGE hole in the ozone directly over your neighborhood with all that hairspray he uses. Better get some extra sunscreen now.

Do you have an ISU flag flying from your house or anything? If so, I wonder if he has noticed it?

Man I would chum it up with him and talk about how bad it sucked to be a hawkeye. Then sit around a campfire and burn all his old hawkeye gear.:biglaugh::biglaugh:

I don't see why any of us see Alford succeeding at New Mexico as a bad thing - It would go to show that it wasn't necessarily the coaching at Iowa that was the problem, but the general atmosphere of EIU that was. The meltdown of Lickliter's failure to turn the program and Alford having unforeseen success at UNM will just be outstanding to watch

Are you sure that he is actually waving? My guess is that he is combing his hair.

AlFRAUD hopefully has hair products that can stand up to the warmer temperatures in the desert.

Alford isn't that terrible of coach. I was always impressed with he and Craig Neal's in-game coaching ability. And you can't dispute his success at his previous stop SMS, which is in a confernce comparable to the Mountain West. He struggled to find the right talent at Iowa, but I expect a lot of success down there for Steve-O, it's much easier matching up with Wyoming than Michigan State and Indiana.
