They say he is a smart boy, so sticking around might make some sense. I never thought he'd go too far in the NBA, but it's worth a shot if the opportunity presents itself. Heck who would have though Jeff Hornecek would have made it at that level so long?
I really hope Adams brother does well in Ames and helps out the tarnished Haluska name.
Jeff was a winner, and that got him over.
I remember still the first time I ever acknowledged Jeff Hornacek, it was 1982, we played Texas, of all teams, Barry Stevens was a sophomore, and scored like 30 points. But I remember saying to my father, as a 12 year old, that guy, and he wasn't even starting then, is my new favorite player. Everything just went better when he was on the floor, and had the ball in his hands.
As people talk about Haluska's awkward looking shot, people on here may not know Jeff changed his shot, totally, before his third year in the league.
And as good as he was on the Jazz on those finals teams, he was better with KJ in Phoenix. They were one of the top 4 backcourts for 3 years in the late 80's early 90's. The Suns beat the Lakers in 89, and played the Blazers in the Western Conference finals. They lost in 6 games, but I will never forget KJ got hurt in the 6th game, and Jeff put that team on his shoulders, and almost won the game, he had 36 points, and was the CBS, back when they did NBA games, player of the game in a losing effort.
The 76ers would not have traded Barkley unless Jeff was in the trade, the Suns offered, KJ first, and were turned down.
