Here nor there
Let's just all agree that the two road games left are absolutely crucial. If we win both of those, we're likely in the 2nd spot. Lose one and we're likely at 3rd. Lose more and we're playing KU early.
As are the home games. None of the four are sure things imo.
If we do end up going 4-0, Fred deserves Big 12 COY and we should be a two-seed in the NCAA tournament (however Big 10 love will probably knock us down to a three).

Can ISU go into the Octagon of Doom and on the road to Baylor and gut out wins? That's the difference between the above scenario and the 3 seed, IMO. Have to win both.

If we win both road games I'm thinking 2 seed, unless you think we drop a game at home. We'd probably need to lose both at home to get a 5 if we won both on the road. Win out, finish 13-5, and get a 2.

After this week, and with just 4 games left, I feel like the NCAA floor for this ISU team is a 7 seed with their resume. As in, completely tank and get no worse than a 7. I think our most likely NCAA seed is a 3 (3-1 and not winning the Big 12 tournament), and the absolute best we can possibly do (winning out and somehow thumping KU in the Big 12 championship) would be one of the middle seeded #2's.

Fun to talk about this way instead of bubble scenarios.

Pulling out a 2 or 3 seed is huge for two reasons.

One, it means Kansas is off limits until a championship game.

Two, the 2 and 3 seed games play Thursday at 6pm/8:30pm and not during the day. No taking off work necessary!

Need to find a way to get that 2/3 seed. Don't want to take the day off work to watch an early in the day game.

Also, for us going down to KC, you avoid having to bid against KU fans for tickets via scalpers. Make no mistake, they're going to swarm the area. I'm hoping for the late game so I can watch all the early games at Kelly's and then cab down to P&L.

Since we had a couple more Big 12 games completed last night, I've ran a bunch of what if scenarios for Big 12 Tournament seeding and came to this conclusion.
-If ISU wins all 4 of its remaining games=ISU will be 3 seed if UT beats OU. If OU beats UT, ISU will be 2 seed. This is assuming UT and OU win the rest of their games.
-If ISU wins 3 of 4 losing to Baylor, OSU, or WVU=ISU will be 3 seed. 2 Seed still possible but unlikely.
-If ISU wins 3 of 4 losing to K-State=ISU will be 4 seed unless KSU loses again. If so, ISU is 3 seed. 2 seed possible but unlikely

I'm not going to do what ifs for ISU losing 2 games because it gets complicated plus we don't want to lose more than 1 anyways

I just had to book a flight for the home office. I'm flying during the 4/5 match-up. PLEASE Cyclones, pick up at least three wins and get in the 2/3 slot.

I'm going off the assumption that we lose both k-state and baylor. We aren't a great road team, and those 2 teams are playing well right now. We are probably looking at a 4 seed.

Kansas State does not score many points on average, and Hoiberg has started a coaching dominance over Scott Drew. I would hope ISU can split those two roads games, at the very least.

are you worried you won't be able to follow it or that you can't go? these days just log into WiFi on the plane and you can watch in flight. I did that a couple of years ago.

Stating the obvious ... we really need to win 2 of these last 3 to stay out of that 4-5 game.
