I think we will get better and I like Chizik and etc., but you can't blame people for being sour after getting our butt beaten in 56-3. I may look forward to next year, but I am not going to act like I am happy when I see an embarrassing score like that. I went to school in the Walden/early McCarney years and saw some bad games, so it isn't like I've been spoiled, but it hurts to see our team this year. I don't think it's fair to badmouth someone for being pissed off at the scores we are seeing.

I can't wait for next year myself, but that doesn't mean this year doesn't feel like fire ants on an open wound.

I would like to add the $195 and $99 season tickets are AWESOME! and I think the men's bball tickets for $99 are an even better deal.

The ticket sales depend a bunch on recruiting this year. So far our recruiting is no better than last year wirh 8 two and three stars for about 2.33 star average. I thought the new staff would be able to recruit better than shown so far. Otherwise, we will have to depend more on weight lifting, bulking up, and coaching. Hope to see a turnaround in next two months. Something to watch.

Iowa does not have min donations. I know some friends who get tickets and do not donate anything. Of course they have bad seats.

Anyone who has been there for 40 years straight I think has earned the right to have whatever opinion they want. If there are 52,000 the last home game of the year, I'll be impressed. Keep in mind, the people on message boards are usually the most dedicated...so it doesn't shock me everyone on here will be re-upping their donation and buying season tix next year no matter how much they cost...I'm worried about the people who don't post on message boards.

There were not 35,000 people for the final home game a few years ago when we had a shot to win the north. There will not be 25k if ISU does not win before then. They will announce 45k, but usually those snowpants games are pretty dead.

I'll bet that all of those schools have a larger athletics budget than we do (maybe not South Florida). If fans aren't stepping up and donating the revenue has to come from somewhere...

Facility upgrades will make up for poor performance for at least one year. JP is a smart guy, he will figure out ways to put people in the seats.

the main reason for the raise in season ticket this year is the new stadium, i know most of it pry went to the athletic dept, but to suceed you have to take a few steps back before taking your steps forward, i would never stop buying season tickets.

Pollard is just doing what he has to do in order to raise the money for the facility upgrades...however, I can understand how it could put certain people in a financial bind. Personally I think it's necessary. If ISU ever wants to join the big boys, they need to have the same facilities as the big boys...Pollard was quoted soon after he took the ISU job as saying that Jack Trice looked like a "glorified high school stadium". When potential recruits walk into Nebraska and see the "sea of red" and 70,000+, it's hard to wow them when they walk into Jack Trice...the facility upgrades will help out our gameday atmosphere immensely.

No, that honor goes to Nebraska:wink:

Yeah, considering we just got creamed 2 weeks in a row, we have been taking everything in pretty good stride on here. Now next year...hopefully we see a few more wins.

I posted this a while back, but maybe the good news is that Chizik will stay a while, build it up slowly and strong, verses pulling some decent years out and bolting for another job. It is obvious this is going to take at least a few years.

I worry about a lot, but I don't ever worry about coaches leaving....I really hope he takes us to a level where someone else would pursue him. If he does, we'll be ok.

We have had what 1 coach in the last 20 years leave for a better job? And that coach is now at Drake?

Sad story but I can't blame them...I was in line yesterday for the concession stand and started chanting with an older guy in line. We were already down big in the 1st half so we began talking about how disappointing this season has been. He said his wife and him have had season tickets for 48 years to Iowa State Football and drive each Saturday to Ames from Waterloo.

The sad part is he told me they will not be coming back next year. They have hit rock bottom with not only the product on the field, but the $$ it is costing to watch 56-3.

I am 40 years younger than them and I can't blame them. This is a disaster for Pollard.
