I saw the Shawn Johnson thread....and this got me thinking about the most famous Iowans ever......and I would guess that she has the makings of being on this list.

Here is my top 5:

1. John Wayne: actor, Winterset
2. Johnny Carson: TV entertainer, Coming
3. Herbert Hoover: U.S. President, West Branch
4. Ann Landers: columnist, Souix City
5. Grant Wood: painter, Anamosa

I would add to the "new school":

-Shawn Johnson
-(Soon) Harrison Barnes
