We also didn't get to the line a lot tonight.....UNC shot double the amount of ft's compared to us
This "lesson to the team" applies to Bill, first and foremost. That’s Bill’s fault.
They did and she was drawing doubles. She had a few nice kick outs and we just missed threes. She should have had about 5 hockey assists.Soares dominated the 1st half…. you HAVE to find a way to get her the ball in the 2nd half down low…. they couldn’t handle her.
But instead we keep launching 3’s when we’re ice cold.
Phil knight looks like ****
WE didn't need to make adjustments on O, we NEEDED to make ADJUSTMENTS on D. The high post screen KILLED US. They decided to go like 100% from the elbows that second half. Must have scored 24 or 28 from there. They didn't miss many when they came off the screen and found no one in their face. That's fair.
Absolutely. The defense was much more frustrating than the offense.WE didn't need to make adjustments on O, we NEEDED to make ADJUSTMENTS on D. The high post screen KILLED US. They decided to go like 100% from the lebows that second half. Must have scored 24 or 28 from there. They didn't miss many when they came off the screen and found no one in their face.
All depends on the officiating.THIS. Coaching was very poor in the second half, but we don't have the athletes....you watch Louisville or South Carolina play (I get they are in leagues of their own), and they are so fast, agile, and can dribble drive. Even as good as Ryan and Donarski are, they can't even dribble drive
I’m expecting it. Hope not though.I didn't watch but that's a hard way to let one get away. Good thing it's only November and it was #8.
Men's thread will make this site implode if they dare get beat tonight.
All depends on the officiating.
ISU women play a physical team that goes Huggins and dares you to call everything?
Probably going to lose.
It's true, we have finesse guards, because the women's game is supposed to be prettier, smoother, and with a more entertaining flow.
The horrible trend of brutish basketball has now taken over women's basketball as well. To the detriment of the sport.
There is a trend of more girls choosing volleyball because the sport is still the sport.
Sad state of affairs.
Not sure if we are Huggins level. May hand check a little more than I like, but not Huggins level. Not a fan of how our men's team plays then huh
I haven't seen anyone bailing or calling anyone names. The harshest criticism I have seen is of Bill's in game coaching. Nobody expected an undefeated season. A couple things that were seen during the game were concerning if we truly have Final Four aspirations. I am sure it will be worked on though. To me, the biggest losers in this game are some of the shockingly juvenile posters who have a melt-down over one game. Did you really think this team, no matter where we are ranked, was going to go undefeated this year; it happens. And whatever needs to be fixed will be worked on. But bailing on the girls and calling them names and calling them quitters is beyond unbelievable. This is as good a team as we are likely to see in Ames for many years. So, forget the silliness and SUPPORT the girls. They have done absolutely nothing to justify losing our support. It's only one game and its early in the season. Second at the Phil Knight is pretty darn good. And losing to an team ranked 8th in the nation is hardly a caused for a complete meltdown.
