Ok, does anyone else have a hard time comprehending the fact that we've sold over 30,000 season tickets not even HALF WAY through the month of March??? I know it hasn't really hit me yet. We should break the record sometime before next month gets here.

If someone would have told me that at the end of last season we'd break the record for season tickets sold before April I would have sent them to the crazy house. We still have 5 months to sell tickets after this month! There's no reason to think we can't sell 35,000+ at this point. Simply amazing.

After the end of last season, if someone had told me that we'd even get to the record I'd have sent them to the crazy house. We had a dismal season, coaching change, and we're still going to break the record (unless we sell less than 6 tickets per day).

Fans keep forgetting that season ticket holders had to have their order in a lot earlier this year and student tickets are already factored into those numbers. Sales are strong but I don't think you're going to see a lot of big increases unless JP has something up his sleeve.

I think that with the rather large cost increase, we wouldn't be sitting as nicely as we are now. Just maintaining the numbers from last year will benefit athletics because of the cost increase. That said, I hope we can get to 35,000 or so but it's going to take a push to get there.

Anybody notice that the current total is now ABOVE the record, according to the graphic at cyclones.com?

Not according to the standard principles of math and numbers, but according to that graphic...

I agree, I think the number will trickle up a bit but not in huge sums. Anything above 32,000 will surprise me.

I just gotta think that most of last years buyers will renew or will be replaced with th few hawk fans that will buy season ticks. And with Jamie mentioning the 3,000 new season ticket holders last month, I think the low end will be 34,000.

Bingo!

In years past, you had to renew by the end of July or something. I don't remember getting a letter about season tickets until the end of Spring/mid Summer in years past. This year they sent them out in January. I'll be blown away if the total gets to 35K!

If there's one thing about Pollard, it's that he has enormous sleeves, to fit all that brilliance up there.

Looks like Popeye in long sleeves.

We can't get satisfied with our ticket sales until we have a complete sellout. Now that would be awesome.

Now the endzone seats haven't been sold yet or even offered. Can someone say whether they have been factored into our ticket sales? I wouldn't think they would at this point. And yet we can virtually guarantee that they will be sold out. Don't know exactly how many seats that is.

We actually need to sell at least 35-38,000 season tickets each year if we are going to have the expansion. In fact, we really need to push to 40,000. There is a lot of room for growth in season ticket sales with Des Moines being so close. There shouldn't be any reason why a 20-29 year old would not buy season tickets at Varsity Club prices. That is a great value.

I would assume the people who renewed their endzone tickets so far have been counted and the ones that are left have not been.

Quote from somewhere "You don't sell the steak, you sell the sizzle".

Pollard has sold the sizzle.

Now it will be Chizik's turn to deliver the steak.

I believe that's a quote from Hayden "Ol' Rasin Face" Fry referring to recruiting kids to his football program.

For some reason, the record and sold numbers got reversed on the thermometer.

Because the rocket scientist that designed the graphic put the 30,000 mark too close to the top of the thermometer to allow the record & the current mark.

Can you say "I didn't really think we'd sell that many this year when I designed the banner!"

Everyone should remember that the extra end zone seats still haven't been opened up to even the big donors. I know of at least a couple people that plan on buying 15 season tickets when they go on sale and then just give them to cyclone fans outside of the OK, TX, and Iowa game. There will still be another big push on that side of the equation but it also depends how many hillside season tickets Jamie wants to sell. My guess would be he doesn't plan on capping it (aka the Nebraska game last year).
