3 point foul on BDJ near the end of the game.

IMO the worst call of the night was a non-call when Mackay was hacked, stepped on and pushed and there was no call. And to add insult to injury, KU came down to our end and we got called for what I thought was minor contact - in comparison. NB. This is the first time I have called out the refs, but that was so, so blatant.

That was certainly bad, but even worse was when McKay got a rebound and Lucas went airborne over his head and shoulders to "tie him up." There could be no more obvious over-the-back than that play.

Pretty poor officiating tonight for a nationally televised conference tournament championship game. If that was the Big 12's "A" crew I would hate to see what the "B" crew was like.

But...despite all of that we still got the win. How sweet it is...

I just don't get why it's a 3 shot shooting foul if the ball has already left his hand before any contact. Should be non-shooting at that point.

That one in particular there was a shot fake, no contact on the fake, then the actual shot, no contact on the shot, then as he's coming down he falls into BDJ and pretends BDJ hit him.

It was pure BS. As was the one on Monte...made 5/6 free throws on total BS and they still couldn't win the game.

I don't understand how some of the best athletes in the country fall down to the court with such little contact.

Higgins was on a roll tonight. Its a good thing the other refs were there to give ISU a few calls. Someone tweeted Higgins has kids that go to KU, he has no business reffing KU games.

Can we talk about that sequence where Mckay and Hogue both were hacked to **** underneath our basket and nothing was called? Heads need to roll for that.

I think the only reason those players are flopping is because they have absolutely no confidence that they are going to make the shot. So they think that they at least need to get free throws!

Apparently you don't follow Blum on twitter. There is no such thing as "over-the-back". If the guy doesn't displace the other it's a legal play. That said, on that play I thought two KU players displaced McKay.

The other bad one was when McKay got mugged getting a rebound and a jump ball was called.

I was curious about the foul called against KU late in the game on Monte's breakaway.

KU fouled Hogue, but since Monte had a breakaway, why didn't we get 2 FT's and the ball?

One thing I get tired of is guys falling down on every 3 they take. I wish there was something that could be done about flopping.

Yeah, similar to fouling at the end of the game. I forget exactly how much time was left, but it was probably our 3rd to last possession. We inbounds, streak down the far side, pass to the far man and he goes for a layup when they call a foul, back before the half court. Watching the replay, the pass was gone, the guy grabbed the jersey. This is really the **** that has to stop. You are either going for the ball or going for the foul. To let them have a chance to be in the game at that point was a joke. Everyone knew they weren't trying to steal, they were just trying to foul.

Exact foul I was posting about above. The ball was long gone. They need to start calling the intentional at the end of games to stop all the ******** of dragging these games out.

At least we complain about the refs win or lose:realmad:

probably a credit to Self that he understands he has earned his team the distinction as the conference saints in basketball. He knows how to play the refs to his advantage.

I agree with with going to the monitor on flops called as fouls. It might stop th flops eventually, but we'd slow down games for awhile.

That touc on the tosh foul at the end of the game was ridiculous given the hack jobs that were not called on KU earlier.

also any foul on another player without the ball to stop a breakaway should be an automatic intentional foul. Two shots and the ball back.

Invoking Blum is a good idea. Paging Mr. Blum!!! What's your take on the officiating job?

That was absolutely intentional and should have been called that way, but that is a call that would not be made in a championship game, especially against KU. Hogue was basically tackled at midcourt.
