I feel like over the last three seasons any time we've gone against a physical or tough team we just wilt.

I can't wait for every other coach in the big 12 to tell us that Steve Prohm is a great coach at their post game press conference.
Feels like a long time ago when Self said we manhandled them. Jan '19 IIRC.

We'll beat Jackson State and Chicago State for sure.
Maybe DePaul. Call that a toss-up, if it even happens.

We'll somehow get 2-4 wins in conference play. That's pretty much our ceiling this year.
Holy crap is that a depressing thought. Swept by Texas, KU, BU and WVU...most likely OSU too. Split with TCU, OU and KSU. Steal one against Tech at home?

I’m trying to stay patient with prohm but losses like this are starting to get other people myself included really questioning him. Last year I was definitely chalking that season up to losing the whole team from the previous year. This year just seems like nothing changed. Prohm seems like a really nice guy and a players coach but maybe he needs to start acting like he’s fighting for his job

Jamie’s big mistake was the extension. Prohms a great guy but what he says he preaches and what we see on the court are two different things. Fundamentals lack. 17 losses in Hilton last few years. Not going to cut it.

purdue game in ncaa tournament and having a loaded roster two years ago to only have a fade at end of year come to mind as massive failures. Throw in 2 years of DFL basketball. Not great

Scariest thing for me is we’re 2 games into the season and I don’t see fire out of anyone, again. I’ve been BEGGING for someone to get a technical foul for being over-aggressive for a rebound or on defense since the middle of last year. Instead its starting to look like another year with a team full of guys whose facial expressions look disinterested.

Tyrese Hunter thread I said “would be great to have someone turn this talent into actual wins” then got 3 dumb symbols...anyone with half a brain that’s not a homer saw this coming with Prohm after year 2. Can we have CMC take over ???

Meh. This bites, but I guess there's just no point in worrying or suffering about it because nothing about it is going to change short-term.

COVID has blown a hole in the university's budget, including athletics, and every spare cent we have has to go towards making Matt Campbell happy, either through money directly to him, to the staff, or to facilities, whatever he wants. Nothing else matters. Campbell and football have first dibs on everything, and the other programs are just going to have to deal with having only the leftovers.

With that in mind, Prohm is not going anywhere this year (which we kind of knew would probably suck) and has next year as a (last?) chance to prove it. So we might as well settle in and enjoy the year as best we can, hope for growth from the various underclassmen, anticipate Tyrese Hunter, and hope Prohm can bring in a few more ponies to run for him for next year to turn it around.

I know a rebuild in year six is kind of ridiculous, but what are you going to do at this point. We have lightning in a bottle with Matt Campbell, so even our headliner program of the past is going to have to take a backseat.

Does anyone believe that Fred would not have had similar results if he stayed? Had 6 scholarships to replace after Montes class left including Naz, and transfer recruiting got a lot more competitive. I think Fred knew what he was doing when he bolted. If Lindell, THT, and Tyrese dont all leave early we are having a whole different conversation about Prohm.
Nope, the results would have still been far better. He’s still pulling in strong transfers at Nebraska now.

How many years of Prohm setting bad records will it take for some of you to realize he is a terrible coach?!

Prohm should help the university by returning some of his salary until the team starts winning and he regains the support of the fan base. We are definitely not getting what we have paid for with his performance over the last couple of years.

Hilton magic is dead, has been for 2 years.

Hilton magic isn’t the building: it’s the people. Tonight is a different issue but don’t use it as an example of Hilton magic being dead. I get you are talking about more than tonight.
