Is Iowa 30 mins away from his front door? Did his brother play at Iowa? Did Iowa not sign a TE in last years class and currently have none in this years class? Is Iowa's OC also their TE coach?

Just another asinine comment from RagingCloner, what's new.
We do have a TE in this class already. I always had a feeling Jacobson wanted to leave the state. I personally think the two sport thing is a mistake for him, but you can’t blame a kid for dreaming big.

It definitely stinks and I would have loved to get him, but we've had pretty good TE's during the Campbell era and none of them were big time recruits (Brahmer and Allen were good recruits, but both 3 stars). They'll find someone else to pair with DeBaun in this class.

Redshirt freshman Cooper Alexander will be a stud at TE as well

IMO hes not getting talked about enough, probably because of the upperclassmen ahead of him
Would have played last year, but hurt early on.

TE room wasn’t as bad for injuries as the linebackers, but it wasn’t that far off, either.

Same with the OG’s—Hasert, then Barrett and Black. Scraped through by the skin of our teeth. Fortunately, much more depth in the IOL this year.

What a colossal, inexcusable whiff by this coaching staff if this prediction holds up

A pretty silly statement. I'm sure our TE room will be more than OK over the next 5 years without him. It has been high level over the last 10 years under Campbell's leadership without Evan Jacobson.

Plus , a kid's college choice is pretty personal. Just because Iowa State is close or has family connection, those might not mean much to a kid. Some kids are drawn by the allure to go to school away from home. Nothing wrong if Elko and his staff appealed to Jacobson more than Campbell & staff.

I thought we all understood that we have to find the young men who really want to be at ISU because $$$ is never going to sway anyone our way. So I would never assume any coaching staff presented better than ours. It is an even more unfair competition now that money is out on the table. Let's face it, Iowa State is a "have not" in P4. To me, we need to be thankful for every recruit that we get. And there's little mystery and no regrets when we DON'T get a recruit. Our staff is working wonders with our team. Just my two cents.

We better hope so. Don’t expect anything from Hasert in Ireland
