Regarding the 2026 class, it's my understanding that the NLI is no more. Now there is just a financial aid agreement. So is there a signing period? When can our '26 commits actually make it official?
Wrong
NIL still exists. It is on top of revenue sharing. They are going to try to establish
FMV - good luck with that.

I think he actually means NLI (National Letter of Intent) which was eliminated fairly recently. It has been replaced with a “written offer of athletic aid” but it seems there will still be an official “signing day” just different documentation.

This is all my understanding from a single article I read, so don’t take this as gospel.

That's right, but I can't find anywhere that tells when commits will sign.

Parker Crim commits to Illinois.
Thanks. Either we’ll land Malachi Ervin—or in December they’ll scrape up some late emerging senior who’s better than either of them.

I see Brayden Thomas scheduled an OV to Michigan State.

Edit:

Ervin got a nice 247 rating boost!

Neither one excites me. Winder has no other officials set and Eglitis has just one to Louisville. Staff probably sees these guys as the best talent that is easy to get for low investment.
This staff has proven they offer based on their own evaluation. They don’t care about offers from other programs.

You’re drawing odd conclusions. Winder likely has no other officials because he is set on ISU, and has been for a very long time.

Eglitis is a late discovery, was racking up offers all over the place—then made an unofficial to ISU. After that, basically shut everything down.

With Brayden Thomas making an OV to MSU, the staff offered Nebraska safety Bryson Williams. At a listed 6’4”, he’s been ripping off sub 11.0 100m’s all spring, with a 10.88 best.

Eglitis didn't shut down recruitment as he has an official to Louisville.

If Winder is set on ISU why hasn't he committed?

Thought had occurred to me might be planning a hearty party for June OV commits and those who commit for first time then. Nice group pic, other activities.
Some people simply like to do things their own way. Like BJ Carter choosing to wait until February to sign, for whatever reason.

This is old, but…

Thanks. I found an update from June, the June Signing Period got shot down. High school coaches are concerned that if a kid signs in June, he may want to skip his senior season to avoid injury. I can see that happening. So it seems that December 17 - 19 will be the signing period for 2026 commits.
