Another safety joins the party. I think there’s competition for the open spots.

Offer from KState. Track athlete.

Is was hoping to get Jandreau (sp?) at safety, but I do like Chatman a lot.

Hoping we can land Tilson and the Nebraska kid at corner now.

Also on the wish list...
DT Daniel Howard
DT Jermaine Polk
EDGE Kasen Thomas
LB Pierce Peterson
OT kid from Oklahoma (can't remember his name)
QB Jett Thomalla
TE Premer, Jacobson, Jensen (want 2 of the 3)

I wanted Jandreau as well but Chatman was the bird-in-the-hand. I honestly don't get raiding N. Illinois for talent when they are typically a low level program.

My wishlist is-
DT Daniel Howard
DT Perez
EDGE Ervin
LB Pierce Peterson
OT McMorris or Burbach
QB Jett Thomalla
TE Premer, Jacobson, Jensen (want 2 of the 3)
CB Jones or Conyers
Ath Tilson

Yeah we snagged a N. Illinois DB last year too, a legacy player.

McMorris is the Oklahoma kid I was thinking of. I forgot about Conyers. Tilson could be better on offense with that kind of speed.

I think Kaprice Keith and Chatman are coming in as cornerbacks.

Wideout Dyllan Malone was also an NIU commit—and they like him a lot. In campus now.

Some kids are simply overlooked or underdeveloped.

Pretty sure that all of these guys will stay safeties, for two reasons.

A. They’re recruiting a higher level of athlete at corner now. Sounds like Mason Ellens might wind up there.

(He might be the PR/KR too)

B. What it looks like to me is…the safety room is really well stocked for ‘26. Jamo will take over for Coop at FS (Jamo/Ta’Shawn/Marcus) then graduate himself after that.

I think they are intentionally recruiting long, athletic safeties who will need a year of physical development, and won’t mind redshirting.

We never really know where a DB will play until we see them on the field. Safety recruits we sometimes move to corner, and vice versa. We do have some talent at both spots, even though we lose Porter, Verdon, Freyler, and Purchase.

One solid clue is when they mention the position coach recruiting them. And in this case, when I go back and look, that’s Coach Po. Kudos to you.

I know that some of you like Malachi Ervin as a rush end, I do too. That said, seeing this kid is also visiting in June, I went to take a glance at his highlights.

And paused to look at a hoops highlight entitled “Three Blocks”. Kid is a jumping jack who reminds you of…someone. See for yourself.

This staff is still doing the work, finding the hidden gems. Check out Florida LB Jacob Curry, too.

Edit: misread the date.

It appears Ohio State likes to copy Iowa State's homework. First, we identify Favour Akih and then they swoop in and offer. Now, Jett Thomalla our top QB prospect. Not to mention previous years RB prospects we have offered. At least we identify the right recruits early!

Last I looked, no offer—though he did just get one from the team out east.

Buckeyes, unsurprisingly, are involved with some very highly touted QB prospects.

Same applies with Akih, where the top two ranked RB’s are among tOSU’s several summer RB visitors.

His other two apparent faves are USC and Miami. Their classes seem to be going similarly. Who knows, maybe he’ll circle back to ISU?

(Feel free to mark this “optimistic”)
