I would be fine keeping him around if someone else handles the drafts. Kwesi does good with free agents... not so much on draft day.
First draft? Horrible. But he also had to find a head coach, put in a new culture, and evaluate players in a 3-4 month time frame. Not shocked that draft was poor. But the drafts have all not been terrible. Addision, Nailor, Ingram, and Ward have all contributed well. I also liked the aggressive approach he made in 2024 to secure McCarthy and Turner. It's far too early to determine their value. For reference, Will McDonald didn't have a great first year with the Jets, but he excelled in year 2. So we could see the same growth from Turner this year. It just seems Kwesi can't shake off the notion he can't draft because of how awful the first draft was (and it was really really bad).

Yeah, there's no two ways about it, that first draft was bad. And some folks aren't getting that bad taste out of their mouths any time soon. But drafting is only one part of putting a team together, and it's hard to argue that he hasn't done very well with those other pieces. Player retention, coaching personnel, cap management, free agency, UDFAs, etc. his track record has been pretty good.

Hopefully the fanbase isn’t too hard on McCarthy this season
Top 10 pick with a win now roster. The pressure is on. If he doesn't have big success these next couple years, Jefferson is gone and its time for a full refresh. Would he still be the guy at the start over point?

Caleb Williams and Drake Maye are in much worse situations but proving to be capable. Jayden Daniels is a star. What should be the expectation for mccarthy?

If you are referring to Ed Ingram..... that was another bust. I'll give credit to Kwesi for dumping him and actually finding a team dumb enough to take him.

Ingram was a 2nd round pick that started because they had nothing else. He was probably the single worst starter on either side of the ball, and they ultimately turned around and got a 6th for him. Not like a huge bust, but it wasn't a good pick.

But really outside of that first draft, Kwesi's moves have ranged largely from TBD to highly effective. The FA moves on the defensive side of the ball have been incredibly cap-efficient and turned that **** show of a defense around.

Ingram was truly awful. They had to use him, cuz they had nobody else. Even PA and Bercich dogged on him during the games.

Do the Vikings reach out to Alexander this week? I've never been a big fan of him (even excluding him playing for GB), but he might be a cheap depth piece?

Just saw that GB is going to cut him. If I'm Minnesota, he'd be worth a phone call. He's definitely a bit injury prone, but healthy he's pretty damn good. Definitely worth kicking the tires on a possible 1 year rental

The news out of OTAs is all koolaid and rainbows. Where is everyone's confidence level in JJ to make it so?

My confidence about the QB situation is like 85% confidence in KOC.
Yep. I don't know what JJ's ceiling is, but I'm confident that KOC will get his best out of him.

I think JJ 1st year will be up and down... he's never played an NFL game before. Most 1st year QB's will have bumps to learn from. KOC regular season results are good (playoffs are WOOF). I'm guessing 9-8 or 10-7 at best.

Cautiously optimistic. I'm just as curious how the defense is looking. Especially at the start, the team will need to lean on the D to keep scoring in check while JJ gets comfortable.

I’ll be curious to hear how PA specifies which “JJ” he’s referring to.

“Heeeee’s JJ!” has been his big catchphrase the last few years.
