I think that's part of it, but I can't imagine KU can't compete financially. The think Self is a bigger issue than anything. I'm not sure he has the energy you need to compete in the transfer portal. The guys that are really killing it are primarily younger and more energetic. Self just seems a bit too old school and isn't going to do too much ***-kissing to get someone to play for him.
