I saw he is set to visit VT tomorrow but Basch said he has made a decision so which is it ?Miller is going to visit Virginia Tech.
I’ve heard both honestly. I hope the Virginia Tech rumor is false but it’s out there by more than just that burner X account.I saw he is set to visit VT tomorrow but Basch said he has made a decision so which is it ?
Mayfield was supposed to visit VT today but that obviously didn’t happen . Weird they are looking at middle weights unless they think someone is leaving .I’ve heard both honestly. I hope the Virginia Tech rumor is false but it’s out there by more than just that burner X account.
Yeah we were talking about it on the intermat forums. Hipolito, Miller, and Church have all used their redshirts. It seems like a weird fit unless Caleb Henson is taking a redshirt or they are comfortable just moving Church to the benchMayfield was supposed to visit VT today but that obviously didn’t happen . Paniro isn’t leaving, I’d argue Miller would be brought in to challenge Paniro for 157 and make him earn it, if he does then he’s likely on the right track to figuring his $hit out if he can’t or won’t then we have a guy who’s got a high floor. Def not the upside that Paniro possesses but has yet to consistently show…But honestly - Ethen Miller is a true 149. He can man 157 as he did last year - or in an act of desperation he could man 141 like the year prior. However 165 would be a bad idea for him at his size. He would be dominated by Riggins and Euton from a size perspective. And so unless Paniro is on his way out, I don't see how it works here either.

With all this being said can Euton or has he ever tried to make 157? Could he challenge Paniro there and have Riggins stay at 65?
Good insight and pts, Euton has def been overlooked, by myself as well. He’s un assuming and not flashy, much like the Frost Bros but he competes and takes care of business. Technically sound and rarely out of position. Garvin woild be such an awesome opportunity if he indeed makes his way to Ames!Connor wrestled 145 as a Junior and 157 as a senior.. Just by that I would say it's "possible" he could make the cut.. but if he wants 165 I don't think anyone.. including Miller.. is going to take it from him.. Now if Garvin comes.. that's a different story.. Conner could maybe even go up to 174 and beat MJ in a wrestle off
If Larkin does come in he’ll have 157 locked down anywaysPaniro isn’t leaving, I’d argue Miller would be brought in to challenge Paniro for 157 and make him earn it, if he does then he’s likely on the right track to figuring his $hit out if he can’t or won’t then we have a guy who’s got a high floor. This is really my hope that kaleb larkin comes in and makes 157 hisIf Larkin does come in he’ll have 157 locked down anyways
Dee Lockett is REALLY good. Still hurts that he isn't in AmesI think it’s possible Messenbrink runs the table, but more so because of the makeup of the weight than his skill. Relative lack of talent at 165. Don’t think he would have been top 3 at 74 this year.
I think Dee will be able to give him all he wants.
Would have been a program changer for ISU. Dee will be competing for senior world teams. Wonder if he didn’t want one of his main competitors being a primary training partner.Dee Lockett is REALLY good. Still hurts that he isn't in Ames
Gotcha. I think there are 4 or 5 really good ones in HS right now, but agree with you Dee is right up there. Will be competing for a title right away.I don't think that was an issue @crablegs . More about family. Dee is a good kid and imho was the best high school wrestler in the country
Was definetly tough not getting him. anything else we should be looking for soon or would you say more movement will be after the open?I don't think that was an issue @crablegs . More about family. Dee is a good kid and imho was the best high school wrestler in the country
The Open will have no impact on ISU wrestlingWas definetly tough not getting him. anything else we should be looking for soon or would you say more movement will be after the open?
The US open is what i meant haha . some guys that have been rumored to be moving are training for that. ie. the Larkin brothersThe Open will have no impact on ISU wrestling

I think we’ll need to be a bit more patient for a couple of our targets even after the open. I don’t think the roster will be truly set until well into the summer
