Stuff like this dives the casual fan away from donating. Just a guess.
1.Donate some money
2. hang with the coaches
3 . then when they tell you something, shut your mouth and don't let the cat put of the bag, and you would know what's going on

Brands coming back was no surprise. 149 being a need weight when they already brought in two transfers at 149 is pretty funny.

Not sure I'd call 49 a "need weight" for Iowa. 97, hwt, 57, yes. But I thought Rathjen looked promising for the future. Aaaaaand then they go and piss on him. Classic Hawkeyes

Rathjen did well, but seems like one of those guys Iowa has that hovers around 10-15 for their entire career. See Assad, Murin (until year 5,) Teske, etc.

Best case scenario Rathjen sneaks into the 7-8 match. Parco is a potential finalist with wins over guys like Lovett and Swiderski last year and people like Gomez and Paniro in his career.

Iowa 100% did the right thing. They’re trying to compete for titles. Parco helps, Rathje is a good backup.

I’ve seen/heard a few times on other boards/social media that Block has outgrown 141 as well so would be at 149. I’d take pre-ACL tear Block over Rathjen in a wrestleoff, but who knows these days, and then add Parco to the mix. I think they had banked on a healthy Block at 141 and Peterson/Schriever at 133. Idk how Peterson is looking weight-wise but he also had knee surgery toward the end of the season.

We getting a guy or not? This circle jerk is annoying.

So as of today the likely lineup based off of what is public knowledge…
125 - Kysen
133 - Frost
141 - Frost/Frost/Redding
149 - Ech/Casey/Paniro
157 - Chittum/Ech/Paniro
165 - Euton/Rojas
174 - MJ
184 - Naak
197 - Bockman
285 - Yonger
way to early for anything concrete

but let's say the line up pans out as listed

125 - kysen qualifier
133 frost High AA (3/4)
141 J frost qualifier
149 Ech High AA (1-4)
157 Paniro mid AA 3-6
165 Euton qualifier
174 MJ low AA (7/8)
184 Naak qualifier / low AA (7/8)
197 Bockman qualifier
285 Yonger - High AA 1-4

RS Casey and Chittum

possible 6 AA / 2 champs

I like the way you think. That would make for a fun year!

You may be a little optimistic on naak. Also think 33-65 could shake out a lot of different ways. Hope naak makes that jump.

Seems like the only things that are fairly concrete or would be shocking if it happened otherwise would be anything other than MJ at 174, Bockman at 197 and Yonger at heavy.

All other weights could shake out many different ways.

My thoughts:
1. There's (hopefully) one starter that is not listed here
2. Hit me with optimistic rainbows if you want but I think we could still run it back with Ech and Cody at the same weights as last year.
3. No way Casey and Cody both RS
4. MJ can place higher than that.
5. I need to see Naak more to get a read there.
6. Bockman could do better than that if the staff get him to improve.
7. Yonger, if healthy, will be wrestling Saturday night. Book it.
