Bruce Pearl looks like a guy who has 20 years in at Deere but decides to become union rep.

Duquense's first tournament bid since 1977.
Cool history nugget!

And Dukes haven't won a tournament game since 1969. Reached sweet 16 - won regional 3rd place game. (Quaint to think how NCAAT had not only national consolation round, but regional consolation. Imagine that happening now).

Duquesne reached Final Four in 1940 and Elite 8 in 1952. Only other appearance was '71.

Read this on CBS Sports earlier today (summarizing). Seth Towns of Howard will play in the NCAA Tournament. He's 26. He started playing college in the 2016-17 season.

At Harvard first, then transferred to Ohio State. Had two injury seasons (plus probably a COVID year) and "stepped away" from playing, then went to Howard.

It's wild UConn has significantly more National Championships than Big East Tournament titles over a pretty long span of time. You'd think even if they were mailing it in they'd be winning a conference tournament more than once every 13 years when they win the big dance once every five years.

Just the odds os 6 in a row vs 3 in a row, it's pretty crazy. Crazy how often they've won six in a row and how rare an always good team has won 3 in a row.

You do realize that UConn was not in the Big East for 7 years (2013-2020). However, they only won 1 American Conference title.

Spending that time in the American makes it more peculiar.

Just bizarre to have so many more National Championships than conference tournaments in same span.

Since Big 12 was formed KU has won 12 Big 12 tournaments and 2 National Titles. They mail it in some years and still win it.
