So far i think this is our class for 2022
Manny Rojas 170lbs Ranked #1 for weight class and #6 overall P4P
Casey Swiderski 138lbs Ranked #2 for weight class

2021's class was the following

Damon HustonMidlandIA125/133Iowa State
Sam HrabovskyFultonMO133/141Iowa State
Conor KnopickMillard SouthNE141Iowa State
Paniro JohnsonErie PrepPA157Iowa State
Jack GaukelSergeant Bluff-LlutonIA157/165Iowa State
Caleb HelgesonJohnstonIA174/184Iowa State
Ashton BarkerIowa City WestIA184Iowa State
Gabe GreenleeAmesIA285Iowa State
Nate SchonSelinsgrovePA285Iowa State
Thanks for this list. I'm wondering if we don't have a whole lot of $$ for the 2022 class.

Here's my list by Weight of 1) Who's leaving that might have $$ to pass on and who's currently at that weight and might demand $$ (vs walk on type guy)

125 - Mackall // Kysen (Knopick is listed in wrestlestate as 125??)
133 - Gomez (I think this $$ became available last year and used in 21 class) // Redding
141 - Parker (same - used for 21 class) & Todd Small (was he getting any $?) // Knopick, Hrabovsky,
149 - Degen (same - 21) // Robinson
157 - no Sr // David Carr, Jack Gaukel
165 - Sr transfer Kraisser (Not sure he demands much $$), Schumacher, Parino Johnson
174 - no Sr // Broderson,
184 - no Sr // Shaprio
197 - no Sr // Yonger Bastida, Cody Fisher
285 - Gremmel $ // Schuyler (transfer), Greenlee & Schon

Overall - Mackall & Gremmel are the only two guys that have I think might have freed up $$. It's my understand that Gremmel was very smart and probably had a lot of academic $$. My primary point is that I don't expect a huge class like last year because the $$ just isn't there. That said I'm sure there will be plenty that panic when we don't sign a bunch of blue chip guys.

I don’t expect $ to be a big issue with this recruiting cycle. I would be shocked if more than 1/2 of 2021 recruits received $ or at least anything over 10%. Also, I doubt if any received over 50-60%. Knopick is definitely 125 and would be surprised if he out grows it. Very similar to Mackall. May wrestle some at 133 but appears to be 125 at this time.

FYI...saw where Ben Kueter received a football offer from Minnesota. I wonder if he's leaning FB? Hell of an athlete

I didn’t realize that about Knopick. I’ve seen him projected all over the place. I think the need is greatest at 125. Glad to hear he looks like he will settle in at the weight for a few years.

Huge recruiting weekend ahead for
@umichwrestling
. Some of those on campus include (rankings from
@MatScoutWillie
’s big boards):
Commit Rylan Rogers - #6 in 2022
Aiden Riggins - #34 in 2022
Grant Mackay - #20 in 2023
Daschle Lamer - 2x state champ going into jr. year
What’s the latest word on the street regarding our chances with Riggins?

Committed to Iowa for football and wrestling today.

Great news. Contrary to what I just heard, however. Your source might be better than mine.
I think Kueter could be good, but with Greenlee & Schon grayshirting, just not much need at 285

I would have thought that Schon would have cost some money. Johnson and Knopick were both ranked around the top 50. Can’t believe they didn’t come for more than 50%. Maybe I’m way off but I would think those 3 would have some decent alternatives. I agree with the remainder of the class.

I don't know about that. Heard there is big new coming out of Michigan soon.
I didn’t say the staff would close the deal. If what you are hearing is true then this will be another in long line of recruits we haven’t been able to close on. Hope you are wrong, though.

Haven't heard much on Voelker, Ysaguirre, Joel Jesuroga and Naaktgeboren
