Hoo boy, there's no way a spike takes two seconds.

That's pretty bad from a crew that struggled all day.

Really didn't like WH not bringing any pressure in that last minute. Five more seconds on the clock and GC probably gets into the end zone on that last play.

Does Iowa High school have the rule that I believe CFB has that if it is under 3 seconds left you can't spike the ball?
If that’s the case, I get it but if not, no way that took 3 seconds. I don’t even think the whistle had blown by the time they snapped it.

Yeah but there were offensive guys moving and still getting set when that ball was snapped so they just as easily could've been flagged. Is there a :10 second runoff rule in HS?

Chains werent even set, Grundy kids moving at the spike. White hat lost control

Looked to me like the WH bench was screaming at him to wind it and he did.

Like I said, that crew struggled all day and you can't have that happen in that situation.

If the chains weren’t set, how did the clock start, burning up the final 2 seconds? /thinking man emoji/

I mean, here’s how it should happen: clock stops with the first down; officials spot the ball; when chains set, wind the clock; QB instantly spikes the ball.

(This is assuming no rule like CFB that prevents a spike under 3 seconds.)

Do you guys remember when Colorado tried kicking a game winning field goal against us with about 00:01 left on the clock? I believe it might have been Mason Crosby and a 50+ yarder.
The clock would start on the whistle and they were too dumb to snap it lol. Took them like 7 seconds before they snapped it and the officials blew the play dead and we won.
He did drill the field goal though IIRC

If everything was done by the book there should have been at least 1 second left but that’s only if GC wouldn’t have moved prior to the snap which I think if given the correct way of handling they probably wouldn’t have. Would have been awesome to see one final play

If I remembering that game correctly, it was during the Chiz years. And I watched that debacle from the first row in the south EZ by the old light brite ready to storm the field. I don’t remember him actually getting that kick off at all or making it. I think it might be closer to 60 yards. I could have my facts totally messed up though.
