I believe there was a huge blizzard that hit most of the state the week before the semis in 93 or 94 that forced all of the eastern teams to play in the Dome and all the western teams played in the DakotaDome in Vermillion.

That was the impetus to move the semifinals indoors.
This happened in 91. Got the first round games in then a big blizzard hit.

Not exactly sure.
I would say look at their grads and the careers. The one's I know are not in high paying fields. My uncle is a big supporter and donor (was honored during a game earlier this season) but he is far from Mel and Kathy Weatherwax or the Sukups.

Another interesting metric would be how many of their grads have season tickets/donate to Iowa and ISU.
My sister doesn’t and she’s basically loaded You saying CPAs don’t make money?

Honestly, I don't give a rip what the amenities are like, I just like the fact that the game is played indoors which takes the possibility of poor elements out of the equation. I played in a several playoff games back in the day and the weather was absolutely brutal. My senior year we played in monsoon which completely took away all of our strengths.
As bad or worse than the weather are the fields. My last year I had more rug burns from playing on our home field, which was basically frozen mud by that point, than I got playing in the dome, and that was in the 90s when the Dome turf was terrible.

Wasn't it more of an ice storm?
I don't remember for sure. I just know that was the correct year, but I don't remember what the weather was like exactly. I was thinking it was just a massive blizzard on halloween maybe?

SE Webster had like one win in 7 years or some wild time length like that.

17 towns make up the district. 2nd largest school district in the state in terms of miles.

Yep, I have family in Illinois and they are jealous that Iowa gets to play their last 2 rounds indoors. Illinois playoffs last one week later so they can have some pretty bad conditions to play in/sit in some years.

I remember it as a terrible ice storm.

I think it depended where you were. I was living in Cedar Rapids then, and I remember it as a pretty big snow event. Maybe there was some ice first but snow was the bigger issue. Of course we had a party so details are a little foggy.

Because they screwed up twice. Just Informed the spike was legal and there is no 3 second rule in HS. They did t flag due to thinking there was. They either needed to give the spike or call a false start. Refs took what could have been very entertaining for a last play and handed it to west Hancock.
@Cyclonesrule91 why did you consider this funny?

They all donate to the U of I athletic department.

There's plenty sending a bunch of money to Ames too. It's not as one sided as you'd think...

We ran a significant Panther Scholarship Club survey of alumni right before COVID hit and the 'do you donate to other universities athletic departments?' results were 47% Iowa, 44% Iowa State, 9% other.
