Because state playoffs are in there. It makes little sense for a public facility to be in the shape that it's in.Who cares, UNI is a FCS program...

As good as UNI football has been, it surprises me that they can’t get better donors or a stronger fan base to pack the dome. Are the grads that cheap or what is going on?
I think Illinois is at soldier field. But that turf is a joke regardless. Nope looks like northern Illinois stadium.
The only legit UNI fans I know actually played there during college for Farley (and think he's a massive dooshcanoe but that's another discussion).I would say look at their grads and the careers. The one's I know are not in high paying fields. My uncle is a big supporter and donor (was honored during a game earlier this season) but he is far from Mel and Kathy Weatherwax or the Sukups.
Another interesting metric would be how many of their grads have season tickets/donate to Iowa and ISU.
The dome is 100% perfectly fine for high school football.
When was the last time you were in it?The dome is 100% perfectly fine for high school football.

If what they showed on the replay was the blind side block it was extremely weak. That penalty on SE Valley on that TD run was pretty weak I thought. Took a TD off the board.
I don't want to muck up this thread but there are a ton of different things pushing and pulling UNI in different directions.
Three Biggest Things: 1) We've only been relevant for 35ish years instead of generations. 2) We kick out teachers and accountants 3) If you thought the Pomerantz years were bad for Iowa State, hoo boy do I have some stories to tell you about what happened to UNI.

This says a lot. Go back now, you would not feel the same way about it. They barely have functional pissers in there to take a leak.Man, I bet it's been 12-15 years.
That was a much more compelling 'sell' before they closed the Price Lab.
When did the playoffs go to the dome?

Finals started in '76 -- which I think was the year it opened.
Semis moved there around '96.
