If you take spring transfers out of the equation, you have to think we'll target 2 guards and a forward in this class.

I think you're correct. I would love to see us get Hurt from MN and open up a pipeline from there like we seem to have now with IL. Probably won't happen but Liddell from IL would be good at forward.

Two guards, yes. Need a shooter and someone to replace Babb. A replacement for Wigginton needs to be planned as he may not be in college all four years. KyKy Tandy seems to be a scorer but I don't know if he is a driver or a shooter. It would seem you have a Wigginton replacement in Glover.

We have 3 needs in next years class.
1. Physical post player who is the future after Young, Jacobson and Lard. People are concerned with Wigginton leaving early. IMO Lard might be 2 and done. The NBA loves athletic bigs.
2. A combo guard who can combine with Halliburton to be our future ballhandlers.
3. A spot-up jumpshooter. We need a Matt Thomas clone. A guy who is deadly from 3, but doesn't need the ball in his hands a lot.

I don’t take issue with anything you have said here. However, looking at the offers that are out, it almost seems as if the staff see your #’s 2 & 3 as potentially the same player, and in addition are looking for more of a really athletic small forward that is tall enough not to just be a three guard line-up.

I think we target guards and scoring. Wigginton is going to be hard to replace with one player. Haliburton should replace Babb nicely. We are good even if lard were to leave next year. IMO!

Jacobson and Solo will be seniors when the '19 class gets on campus. Whether Lard leaves early or not, we need more than Conditt the following year.

Basically agree, but I think you are wrong about Lard. He is already a very good player and will get better. However, I doubt he is NBA material. If you watch much NBA, those guys are freak athletes. I do not see a position for him in the NBA. He is not very big or athletic by NBA standards. At his size and frame he would need to play on the perimeter. I am prepared for a bunch of disagrees on this post, but look at the guys from ISU that never really made it - Fizer and Brackens most notably. A very, very elite club. I do not see it in his future.
