Brees resume now-
71.6% completion nfl record
468 completions nfl record
5,476 yards nfl record
13 games with over 300 yards nfl record
46 tds led league

Rodgers resume-
45 tds in 15 games
122.5 passer rating nfl record
6 ints 2nd in league

My vote Brees

155 more pass attempts for Breese (many with the Saints running up scores).

To put it in perspective, Rodgers averaged 33 pass attempts per game so that would mean he would have to play an additional 4.7 games to catch Breese in attempts.

Imagine what Rodgers puts up with 4.7 more games this year.

I don't understand why people are making a big deal about pass attempts. Shouldn't we be more worried about pass completions?

No you should hold it against Brees for playing in a system that throws the ball a lot, obviously. Personally I think trying to determine between Rodgers and Brees who was more valuable this year is an exercise in futility, they should share it IMO.

Has to be taken in account when the someones only basis for Breese candidacy is the records he posted this year. Sean Payton and Drew Breese openly talk about throwing the ball when they're up big in games to chase records. At least they don't hide from it.

Should be a telling stat that Rodgers won the All-Pro voting with 47.5/50 votes. He'll win the MVP in a landslide.

Fine, but you can't credit him for it either than. Throw the ball a lot, but you have to complete passes. Don't use attempts as an argument, completions are all that matter.

I don't even know what Brees numbers look like for completions compared to anyone else, but pointing out attempts is pointless unless you also talk about completions. Anyone can have attempts, you have to have completions to win.

But when U are throwing an awful lot of attempts & your completeion % is an NFL record, then the total yardage record goes out the window! You are not an EFFICIENT QB (Brees) as Rodgers is with the 155 less attempts! Plus the fact Brees was put out there on a Monday nite game with over 3 minutes to go & a 22 point lead only to throw for the record when they (the Saints) were playing AT HOME again the following week! And if U dont want to look at attempts, then concentrate on INTS where Brees had MORE THAN 2X as many as Rodgers with roughly the same amount of TDs, unless you look at TOTAL TEAM PASSING TDs, which the Packers easily beat the Saints!
Bottom line, Rodgers should be NFL M.V.P. hands down! 15-1! No bad game but Brees did!

I agree. I'm a Packers fan.

I'm just saying don't point to attempts. Point to completion % or INT or anything, but attempts say nothing. My criticism is pointed to both sides of the argument.
