Was 9th the highest ranking ISU has ever had? I remember being that high during the Seneca years but not sure.

It's great what is happening in Ames right now. ISU deserves the ranking and the kudos. Pollard might just want to hand over the checkbook to Campbell right now and end any speculation.

It's amazing how much national bias there is towards the Little 10. PSU and OSU are very good. MSU and Mich are the next level down. Wisky (2017 fake ID of college football) really can't be quantified right now due to the Hoks schedule of 2 years ago. Yet everyone at ESPN sees the conference as world beaters. We will find out how good Bucky is (like the 2015 Hoks) come Little 10 title game and subsequent bowl. We all know how well that worked out for the TOE. The rest of the Little 10 is mediorce to bad, and I'm being generous. The Little 10 West is embarassing.

Not quite. Michigan is not on MSU's level. They're 2-8 in the last 10 against MSU and 1-9 against OSU, and 3-5 against the "powers" of the Big 10 East (OSU, MSU, PSU) during Harbaugh's tenure - and will likely be 3-6 in a few weeks. People are slowly coming to the realization that Harbaugh may actually be a fraud.

Imagine ISU winning 8 of 10 from Iowa and then Hok fan still claiming that they're still the better program. That's basically the same as claiming Michigan is on MSU's level.

This need not be so anxiety inducing.

The polls are designed to elevate popular programs generally without a consistent standard for quality of play. Thus creating a veneer of credibility so that teams with broad support are in position to play games on TV that matter.

The BCS computer system was far superior to the system we have now, even with it's flaws it was much more impartial.

There's plenty of analytics to use now-a-days. We don't need the BCS to rank teams. We need people with a conscience.

Well deserved by the staff and team.

Really though, every unit but one is playing at a top-15 level. If those young guys improve, look out!

The top ranked 2 loss team. Nice!

Only losses are to decent teams and there's only 1 game left that would be a bad loss.

I keep waiting for that 'back to reality' game but right now ISU is making it really hard for anyone to score and that makes such a difference. They've given up 20 points since the OU halftime and it's against the best of the best of offenses.

Really excited for these seniors that are experiencing legit success and riding out in a bowl game, only hope for more of the same down the stretch here.

Words hurt, you are a BIG BULLY: The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Both those who are bullied and who bully others may have serious, lasting problems.:(

The Smurf Bowl is proof for Campbell saying 6-6 is for ******** teams.

6-6 is good when you've been without a bowl for awhile, and with younger teams that would really benefit from that extra month of practice. I would have been happy with that this year when the year started (now 8-9 wins pre-bowl is actually pretty reasonable). But it shouldnt be the long-term goalpost either.
