    Illinois matchup

Yea their defense is something like #142. That's why Madguy30 is correct in that ball movement and running our offense for best shot is critical in half court. If we do that eventually they will breakdown defensively. On our defensives side just limit transition points and we should be fine.

    Come On!

The one team I worry about the most in our region is BYU not UCONN. Hopefully Illinois takes care of them.

*** Official Selection Sunday Thread ***

As much as I think the committee is incompetent, we didn't get screwed...UCONN did. Would you rather play Wash St/Drake or FAU? Would you rather play BYU/ILL or Auburn? And then, if they make it, they have us. And they ain't played nobody like us in 2 years. Even in the 2nd round, would you...

*** Official Selection Sunday Thread ***

Here's the thing...all agree East is toughest bracket. But that just means we may never see UCONN. Win first 2 in Omaha (and we should). Then sweet sixteen and either BYU or Illl, which we are better than both. Then see who we play to go to final four. We can do this.

SIAP: Dickenson and McCullar both out for Big 12 tourney

Interested in what this board says versus what Kelvin Sampson does. He's won the regular season, he's guaranteed a #1 seed and South Regional no matter what. Does he play his starters many minutes in Big 12 tourney?

    Heading into March Madness

I predict Final Four if we can do these 5 things to help our offense: 1. Hit our Free throws 2. Cut back on careless turnovers 3. Rob catches every pass and rebound that hits his hands 4. King kicks the ball out every now and then 5. KG doesn't throw up any wild shots

STOP trapping out high!! Every time they get an open 3. Not rocket science.

    2023-2024 MBB computer projections thread

On offensive woes: Some tend to forget this is the pattern for TJ teams the past 3 years. We play so hard that by late Feb. & early March we hit a wall. Tired legs = poorer shooting. It was clear 3 games ago Milan had hit that wall. He played High School last year so no doubt he is tired from a...

AP has Kansas back ahead of ISU lol

Coaches Poll still has us at #6

    Dear Houston

I'm gonna disagree with the OP just a little. I want nothing to do with that game in KC. I would rather go home early rest up and get ready for The Tourney of which we will have a REAL shot. A Houston game just b4 the Tourney would be exhausting.

    Stop underutilizing Ward

I'd like to see Ward get more minutes, but good arguments on fatigue, fouls, injury, etc... for reasons to limit his minutes. But since Ward came back from injury it is clear he is the best big man ISU has had since McKay, and I would say at the moment he is playing better than McKay. Secondly...

STORY: Iowa State falls flat at the free throw line, can't complete comeback on Virginia Tech

This is a problem that I don't quite understand. VaTech has 2 shooters. Everyone else including interior players are mediocre. Yet to the very end we doubled the post and allowed the 2 shooters open shots. Why not make an adjustment according to personnel of opposing team. Tech was not going to...

Two Things Can Be True...Yet Seem Contradictory

Like, I'm reading on here most every day but post once or twice a year. Or this forum has what some would call "Sunshine Pumpers" who are just happy we are out of the Prohm days and winning more than 2 games and trust TJ implicitly. And there are those who are "cliff jumpers" after every loss...

    BartTorvik update...

I think maintaining this level of intensity is very difficult, game in game out. However, one difference in last year's team that faded down the stretch of Big12 play and seemed tired, and this year's team, is we have more horses. King who I think is playing very solid if not very good, only...

    Miami Fan Board Nuggets

Just look at their scores. Every single game where they are in the 60's (even high 60's) they either lost or won by just a few points. Unless we just fall apart we will hold them in the 60's.

    Miami

Yes. Also, what the "experts", commentariat, etc... don't quite get is that our defense will physically wear teams down. You better have some subs. If your team's best players (Like Davis and Davison) play 37 and 38 minutes, they are not going to be effective late in the game. All 5 of Miami's...

*** Official Oklahoma vs IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

^^^THIS^^^ Look at all the crappy offensive games and you'll see around 18 turnovers. That's 36+ points we didn't even get a chance to score plus the other team gets more opportunities and easy buckets. We keep the turnovers down and the offense will be fine.

Should we expect an improvement in offense?

Yes this! Conditt instead of just hedging seems to want to trap everything. That gets the entire D out of whack. So yes more hedging for everyone and less trapping...especially in the middle of the floor.

Should we expect an improvement in offense?

I think 3 things can help improve our offense. Stop turnovers in bunches. Our turnovers have gone down the past 2 games from around 18 per game to 12. However, having several in a row really puts pressure to score immediately. Hunter is starting to penetrate more and that will help. Continue or...

    Coach Otz

I think it is hand in hand. I think he has some assistants who are valuable, he trusts, and make him a better coach. Even with Prohm, I didn't just blame him, but wandered why one of his 3 or 4 assistants couldn't come up with a way to get the ball inbounds. It wasn't just him in my opinion...
