NBA: ESPN saved Inside the NBA

After just a few seconds of the halftime show I just had to mute it and wait for the second half to start. Who in their right mind wants to watch SA Smith and Perkins? Please give us Shaq, Ernie, (the real) Smith, and Barkley!!!!

    What's everyone reading?

I agree the early Clancy books were better but I still think the later ones were a bit better than the totally ghost written ones. Besides I'm not a big fan of people buying the right to publish something under a successful writers name under the guise of "co-writing." Clancy may have even had...

Every time a company gives you a run around like this make sure you contact the Better Business Bureau. Also let the company know you are contacting the Better Business Bureau. It helps the bad actors get a bad name in the business. Also make sure you are telling your story to everyone you...

How much for a tailgate ticket?

Make sure whoever you have providing your alcohol has their off-site liquor license in order. Just because someone has a license for their bar or restaurant doesn't mean they can use it anywhere. Also, just because someone has a license in one jurisdiction doesn't mean they can use it in...

    What's everyone reading?

I know that others find these books just fine. I read two of them, if I remember correctly, and I didn't find them to be up to the standard of Clancy. My brother, who is a bigger Clancy fan than I am, independently came to the same conclusion. Of course to each their own.

    What's everyone reading?

I should probably read some of the authors on your list since I have already taken deep dives and enjoyed L'Amour, McLean, Clancy, and King from your list. If those are on your favorites list the others will probably appeal to me as well. Wife was hot on Rice when I met her. I never read them...

    What's everyone reading?

Just read The Martian - what a quick read. I'm giving it to my son to read this summer. The way it is written with a hundred short mission logs it is great for an ADHD kid with the attention span of a gnat. Gotta keep his brain at least a little engaged this summer.

Not to brag... <poster commences to brag> ...but I played O'Brien in a staged version of 1984 in high school - in 1984.

*** Official 2025 Chicago Cubs Thread***

Yeah it is unique the way it regularly changes from a tiny park to a really big park from day to day. It must be so boring to play in an indoor stadium where it plays the same pretty much every day/night.

Hey 19 - Random Thoughts: In the year 2525...more or less

Yeah we have a friend getting married up here in the Twin Cities (likely flip flops and Hawai'ian shirts). So we will have a bunch of friends staying at our house for the weekend. Not sure where we are going to put them all, but we'll make it work...
