Maybe Gunnerclone should apply. He's pretty non-traditional.
"non-traditional" means not someone from the academic community, e.g. a Dean, a Provost, a President from a smaller university...
I am not against the idea per se, but academia is a really different animal from business. You need someone with some familiarity with academia, even if they haven't made it their whole career. You have to convince and charm people, its not like you are the CEO with absolute power. Not every business person understands or is capable of that.

Idk who will be selected, but I do know that a lot of CFers that will cheer the non-traditional business or political selection (especially if said political selection is on their “team”) will be some of the same posters that made fun of UI for hiring Harreld.
