well this is certainly something.

1. if he did it, he's gone.
2. broke the honor code, he's gone.
3. it's false, and the accuser is all sorts of messed up.

but the comment from the cop.... YIKES
The cop’s comment may have been a lament, as opposed to an attempt to discourage.

Cause he’s kinda not wrong.

Testifying
Even if this is found to be consensual, BYU will be pressed to follow their Honor Code
Brandon Davies was booted off the basketball team a few years back but they then brought him back the next year I think.

Very interesting that this is just a civil suit
Different parameters to find "guilt". Finding reasonable doubt, in Utah, for the starting QB at BYU might not be a difficult task.
Still..interesting indeed.

Possibly, but if the quote itself is accurate that's not something a cop should say in that situation regardless of their intent.
Agreed. Sounds like the last thing a police officer should be saying. Their job is to investigate the allegations 150%.

A DA seems to be the person who would tell a victim the case isn't strong.

REALLY bad look for Provo police if allegation true.

Welp, looks like BYU may have to back up the Brinks truck to go poach themselves a new QB.
