The Nuggets are back in action tonight, at home vs. Portland. They go back-to-back with a WED game against .... Georges and the Jazz tomorrow night in SLC (2nd of 4 match-ups between the two).

Toronto and OKC both have games on WED so we'll see who gets minutes. Best guess: Nader.

Early programming note: Both the Raptors (8 pm ET / 7 PM CT) and the Jazz (10:30 ET / 9:30 CT) are on ESPN (the good one, not the Ocho) on Friday night. I have to watch my son play hoops so I've already set the DVR for both of them. Good chance to see Georges; let's see what happens with Matt this week.

Crushed em. Crazy schedule for the Nuggets lately and it would be nuts if they could win their eighth straight back end of a back to back

Should be interesting to see if the trade of Malik Beasley to the Twolves, and incoming Shabazz Napier has any impact on Monte's minutes. Guessing it will be a wash, but Monte seemed to have good chemistry with Beasley. I like the trade for the Wolves as I think Beasley has starter potential if given run.

I’m guessing this sets up a second trade for Denver. In isolation, it doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense to get spare parts and a late 2020 first rounder.

Mile High Sports seems to be on the same page as your comment. TJ McBride says that with the trade, they now have Napier and Dozier, in case Monte needs to be included in a trade (that could be for Jrue Holiday). So Monte's name could be thrown around in trades; I hope he doesn't get moved. Here's a link to the article:

As @Doc noted, the Nuggets beat Portland by a bunch (28, precisely). Monte's final line: 23 MIN, 7 PTS, 3-8 FG, 4 AST, 0 TO and +14. Harris and Murray were both back in the line-up so Monte did not start.

Monte's assist-to-turnover ratio is at 5.55 to 1; it's coming back up recently after his 4-turnover game late in JAN. His scoring average is up to 8.1 after his recent starts.

Back in action tonight, vs. Georges and company:

Even with the A/TO swoon he leads Tyus Jones by 0.6 and the next two guys by 1.3 in the stat. Latonia should be very proud.

I’m mostly just confused at the moment. Late first rounders aren’t worth much. Vonleh gives them some depth if Millsap and Plumlee struggle to get back. Not sure if it’s quality or not. Keita Big **** is a little intriguing.

Oh darn, I hadn’t even thought about Monte getting traded after this.

Monte starting for the Nuggets against the Jazz tonight. The Nuggets have dressed 9, but the announcers think that only 7 are only healthy enough to play.

Monte vs George's part 2 (of this season). Monte again had the upper hand since he started, got the W and had better stats. The Nuggets won 98-95 and the Jazz' swoon continues.

Monte's stats: 42 MIN, 15 PTS, 7-12 FG, 1-4 3PT, 2 REB, 3 AST, 2 STL, 1 BLK, 1 TO and +2.

Georges' line: 14 MIN, 3 PTS, 1-5 FG, 1-3 3PT, 1 REB, 1 STL, 1 TO and -6.

EDIT: Monte's minutes and pts line have been corrected.

Monte had a big steal in the final minute. I believe they were down 1 at the time, and they took the lead on that possession.
