To answer the OP: Cheering for Nebraska in this one.

Nebraska isn't as much of a direct competitor as they were in their Big 12 days. Iowa is still our chief rival in terms of fan support (and as a result financial support), in-state recruiting, and media coverage. Will always cheer for them to lose.

At 6-6, probably either Quick Lane (Detroit) or First Responder (SMU's stadium).

Quick Lane opponent would likely be a 6-6 BC, 6-6 UNC, or a mid-major fill-in.
First Responder opponent would likely be a 7-win C-USA team -- Southern Miss, Western Kentucky, etc.

Oh, yeah. Sign me up for that. Iowa loses and Nebby goes to Detroit.

This is like 2016 for me. Both lose and we all win.

Give me a scoreless tie filled with Not Top 10 plays. I want fumbles though the endzone, backwards onside kicks, muffed punts, dropped passes, etc.

I want a highlight-reel game for the ages that neither team is proud of and still keeps Nebby out of a bowl.

How so? I don’t think Nebraska being good or bad affects ISU at all.
We lost a pretty good player from Carrol to NU and I believe Hall was being recruited by them and others. I think if NU becomes a power again we won't win many of those recruiting battles. IMO.

Who I root for to lose is based on the situation. This year I'll root for NU to lose to keep them from getting 6 wins and lose out on a bowl game even though like a previous poster said it'd be fun to see them go to a bad bowl and try and act proud of it. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from them leaving the Big 12 for our rival conference.

Lol. We might finish with 8 regular season wins and people will call the season a disappointment. Nebraska finishing at 6-6 with a ****** bowl game would be considered huge for them. Man, have the tables turned.

I hate to say this, but barring Iowa having a meltdown today and turning it over a few times, I just don't see Nebraska winning this one.

Gunnerson is a start. A 2021 OL from Iowa committed last week to them over an offer from us. That's two quick examples of how a good Nebraska can be bad for Iowa State. Before Campbell it didn't really matter, but now it does.

Would you say we lose more in-state kids to Iowa than we do to Nebraska?

Iowa for sure, but hate them both. I just pray that the Iowa Band is safe today. I fear that they may not be in a safe space and could have someone do something horrible, like insult them.
