If Alabama does fire Johnson and that’s a big IF, who could they turn to? The logical choice could be Iowa State head coach Steve Prohm, who is an Alabama grad.

Prohm’s team just took down Kansas in the Big 12 Tournament and may face Auburn in the Midwest Region if both teams win their opening-round game in the NCAA Tournament. A few Tide fans are already predicting this will take place soon.

Y'all are talking about Hoiberg while this is being discussed.

Saw this a couple days ago. Avery was a great Spur, but a **** coach.

Would make sense for Prohm to go. It would be bad for Iowa State, but he has to do what he has to do.

I honestly don't see that as a step up. I understand wanting to go home, but the environment he has now can't be worse than in Alabama.

It’s a football school that plays basketball. It’s his alma matter. He will have more than he has here.

Opens up a lot of recruiting for him. Easier to get southern kids to Tuscaloosa than Ames.

Especially if this weekend goes well, we're going to have to up the ante on that salary for CSP. Doesn't make as much sense but don't sleep on Va Tech inquiring too.

There will be a whole lot of people that will be happy when Steve leaves. So it’s probably a win win, right?

I mean he’s dragging us back to the dark days of cyclone basketball and all.

That article reeks of someone just throwing **** at the wall because they found a decent coach who was an alum. Much like all those articles about Campbell leaving for other P5 jobs like Maryland, minus the alum part. Wishful thinking.
