Probably disappointed because he needed two more kills for a killstreak.
Always thought he broke a lot of rules as a coach but this is a bad deal for him. Someone I know well accidentally killed someone in a traffic accident. It is a terrible thing to live with.
This is why I get pissed at the cyclists who get away with running red lights in Minneapolis. Who are they hurting but themselves, right? Wrong. The person who eventually hits and possibly kills them has to live with it the rest of their lives.
Same thing happens in Ames all the time, too. You don't want to yell at someone about it, but then something like this happens. Ugh.
I have to go past a bike trail crossing at least a few times every day, no matter which way I go to work and back. It's amazing how many people zip across busy streets (or start to) without even pausing to look.
Yeah, sorry I'm not more down-in-the-mouth about an incident that involves two people I don't know. Sure, it's terrible, but at the same time my comment won't reach anyone personally affected.
It's still alright to show empathy and sensitivity, no one is expecting you to mourn over this but making comments like that looks bad.
I think there are some university officials who have wanted him out for a while now. Dude wins a lot but he's kind of a pain in the ass, too.
So many people get hurt or killed after getting out of their vehicle after wrecks during bad driving conditions. We are all conditioned to think that surviving the initial impact means we're in the clear.

Actually, I think more people do it because they are afraid of vehicles hitting them from behind. Outside a semi truck barreling into you at highway speed, you are still safer getting knocked around in your car rather than risk getting out.
And after the first hit or two you are going to be pretty safe. The road will back up behind the pile.
At least 20 years. They have been under investigation more than any program I've ever seen. It's pretty bad when the NCAA is so gutless about doing anything to these type of programs the school has to put the team on probation.
