Game 1 going to overtime. Shayok is an ultimate competitor, hit a 3 to tie it up with 3 seconds left. Some questionable calls going against Lard and Shayok is the most upset about it.

Lewis started out really hot, then cooled down a little with the help of the guards on his team and their lack of interest in passing. Solomon hit several threes. Lard was forcing things a little which is to be expected in his first game. Both Lard and Shayok never came off the floor the whole game because they only had 6 guys show up. Double overtime coming up now.
Iowa state players showed up, but no one else? That's gotta be a first. I'm guessing some guys went to the wrong gym.
Yeah, that's possible. The other team had 9 or 10 guys. I'm guessing the Iowa State guys are fans of not driving all the way out to West Des Moines.

Yep. I feel really good about a frontcourt rotation of Lard, Young, Brase, Beverly, and Lewis.
He certainly does look athletic and coordinated, which is a step up from some of our recent bigs.
I'd also describe him as "springy."
Lard could have had 50 and 20 dunks. Dude was sprinting the floor like Junior year McKay but never got rewarded. (He also was never subbed out and game went double overtime.)
Lard makes Solomon look short.
I understand it's a one minute summer league highlight reel, but Lards ability to handle the ball, his physical size and overall coordination really surprised me there. It's impressive.
Impressed with all these guys. Lard is better putting it on the floor than I had imagined. Shayok (from this and watching him at UVA) just presents such a tough target for a defender since he can nail the 3, but is also very good at putting it on the floor and driving it (and once he gets his shoulders past you, you are done).
Man, I wish Shayok was eligible this year.
Looks like he's been working on his ball skillz. I'm moving my expectations back up the Sweet 16.
