Upper 50s today (according to WeatherBug) and raining. We're in Otsego - NW side of Twin Cities. My sister & I are going to KC next weekend to spend some time with my son & his girlfriend and I'm counting on sunny skies and warmer weather!

2 state legislators were shot at their homes in the TC metro last night/early morning. Dude dressed up as a cop knocked on the door and shot them

Rough day today up here in the Great White North. My State Rep and @jcyclonee's State Senator both shot by a gunman impersonating law enforcement in the middle of the night. Showed up at their houses in the middle of the night last night. Rep and her husband are dead, Senator and his wife are through surgery and hopefully out of the woods.

What have we become? Regardless of your politics this is a dark day for our democracy.

Our house is about 5 miles or so from both crime scenes. She is the only State rep Mrs. Velo and I have ever had here. There was a Hortman yard sign in our yard when we moved into our house over 20 years ago. She was Speaker of the House until the Republicans gained a slim majority this session.

A lot of planning went into this. Was driving a mocked up police car complete with pusher bumper, red and blue lights, spot light and even faked "POLICE" license plates. Had a manifesto in the car with a list of targets.

The area is under a shelter in place order. They have a suspect identified but is still at large.
