I have pretty much given up on the whole horror/slasher genre. I just don't have time in my life to watch movies my wife refuses to watch and I don't want my kids to see.

I’ll also add the Spider-Verse/Miles Morales movies. I think they are truly masterpieces but even I’ll admit there is a ton of quick cuts and everything and it can be extremely hard to follow sometimes.

My wife likes it but I’ve recommended the first one to a few people and they just can’t do it.

Ironically, most of the dumb comedy and guy movies in here she would be good with, esp the 90s stuff.

I just can't get her into scifi really of any kind. She will watch, but crochet at same time and not really pay attention. Just not her thing. Whereas for me it is foundational.

She likes old "Have Gun, Will Travel" type stuff more.

I couldn't get my wife into Shogun either. I loved it, but she was too annoyed by the subtitles.
Mrs. Velo enjoyed it with me. However if probably helped that I was able to explain things to her throughout. I read the novel after watching the Richard Chamberlain mini-series version years ago when I was a kid.

On a side note reading Shogun led me to read King Rat also by Clavell. What a story, but not for the squeemish.

Forest Gump and Snatch are two that my wife hates. She also doesn't care for Monty Python. In general, she struggles with British humor which hurts my soul

Smokey and the Bandit, every time it’s on I switch to it. She immediately starts pitching a fit. I just tell her when I get her home I’m going to punch her momma right in the mouf.
